‘We Don’t Have a King:’ Cuomo Blasts Trump's 'Total Authority' Claim

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on tension with Trump over reopening the U.S. economy: "I can't do it. He can't do it. I'm not sure how quickly we can do it together. So what's the fight about?"

President Donald Trump and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo publicly sparred over who has the authority to reopen the U.S. economy.

“If he ordered me to reopen in a way that endangered the public health of the people of my state, I wouldn’t do it,” Cuomo said in an interview on CNN. “We don’t have King Trump. We have President Trump.”

Trump said in a tweet that he’s given Cuomo all the resources he’s asked for to combat the coronavirus.

“I got it all done for him, and everyone else, and now he seems to want Independence! That won’t happen!,” Trump said.

I voted for Trump last time and was ready to do so again. But he’s been arrogant about this global health issue. He said it however as usual they took Trump's words WAY out of context. This is what they DON'T tell you. According to the U.S. National Emergency code, the president does have full authority to act if his declaration is supported by specified provisions of law.

President Trump is attacked from so many ways it is awful. I tried to give Cuomo a long rope, but he is not a nice person that I would trust. Throwing dirt on our sitting president is as low as it gets. He should address Trump personally and not the whole American people. What he is doing is very low and he seems to think we the American people are going to put up with his rants. WE ARE NOT. He also seems to think we are a bunch of really stupid people: WE ARE NOT.
