Last week I bought a less expensive version of this type of vamp/instep boot stretcher for some cowboy boots I bought off eBay. I highly recommend that you use a stretching liquid spray, or water, to wet the leather before cranking the stretcher tight. This helps the leather stretch with less strain and risk of cracking or tearing the leather. You can pay ten bucks for a 4 oz spray bottle of this, or mix 3 to 1 water and rubbing alcohol and save money. The alcohol dries out the leather even more than plain water does, so you'll want to use leather conditioner right afterward to restore some of the oils to your boots, but heck yeah, these things work GREAT. Great video, I have some great boots that are too tight in the instep just like yours...I do think that spraying that area first or using a conditioner will help the leather give more easily before you do the stretcher....I have high insteps too, rest of the boot feels good but its a problem with boots a lot for me. Thanks for the video!!

Geezer, gotta get them on 1st. The instep reinforcement stitching is Always my issue. I have a double problem with High Arch & high instep. Buying a half size larger just makes the boot too large and I'll be swimming in them

I hope this works I bought the same boots was so excited for some steel toe rebbacks and they’re too tight I’m exactly the same spot I am waiting for the stretcher and the spray to come and I’m hoping they work out because my work reimburses up to $200 for boots once a year so I bought them hoping they’d last but time will tell. I was so bummed out because they look great and I love the slip on factor but they’re so tough to get on and are unbearable to wear. They have the spray that’s supposed to soften the leather to help stretch it more I just hope it works out but next go round I’m getting some custom Jim greens made I suggest everyone check out Jim green they’re so nice and punch way above their weight cost wise

Looking at your foot I think you need a wide
