Destiny 2 the game I uninstall and then always end up reinstaling it, the game I love to hate.

Hearing Byf, aka Lore Daddy, being referenced on this channel is great news.

Can’t begin to say how happy I am that final shape was the best shape the game could’ve taken

heres why the final shape exicision mission was unbelievably good.

1. We enter into the raid in "contest mode" when the game reset during the weekend, in "contest mode", the raid is harder, it is a race for the title of completing the hardest raid ever made in destiny, to put it in perspective, in 24 hours, only 1 team managed to clear the raid.

2. With the completion of the raid, it unlocked the excision mission for everyone, meaning the 6 players unlocked the final mission for everyone, so canonically, their effort and success is engraved into destiny history as the 6 who carved the path for everyone.

3. in this final mission, destiny had an "endgame avengers assemble moment" where every notable friendly character from the 10 year history of destiny appeared for the final fight vs the big bad boss complete with an inspiring speech from keith david as zavala.

4. playing the mission itself was akin to being an avenger on the battlefield in the movie,

this was endgame for us destiny players.

If you haven’t been playing since start there is no 10 year story. Majority of it is cut or was behind seasonal stuff.
Gameplay is good like it always has been but new (and returning) experience sucks so much.

🤣 Gotta love how Byf is called Lore Daddy even by those not really involved in Destiny. It'll be hilarious if that name carries over if he gets into other games.

It looks like Destiny 2 recovered from Lightfall but not fully and you probably aren't going to see that happen anytime soon.

I love how the community has collectively come to the decision we should let bugie die more often, lol.

I uninstalled D2 after I finished the Lightfall campaign. I was so disgusted by the exansion and I hadn't touched the game since then. Week and a half before The Final Shaep released, I installed and played catchup, finding that the seasonal content I missed was pretty dang cool. Final Shape comes out, atypical launch issues, but I was able to get through most of it on legendary on day 1, This expansion was just so good right off the rip. Then all of the content included, I played every single day last week, skipping my WoW time, Ark time, and my playthrough of Horizon Forbidden West because I was just having so much fun in D2. Here we are, week 2 and honestly? I'm hype AF about D2 again. The new seasonal content for Echos is really fun too. Yeah, Bungie pretty well nailed it.

"Completed a ten year long story!" Wow, I can't wait to go play through it from the beginning! Oh wait, I forgot they deleted most of the campaign content I payed for and most of that ten year story doesn't exist anymore.

Seasons were not big content drops. They delivered a little bit of story throughout the initial 6-7 Weeks and a little bit shortly before the end of the season. So Seasons were actually way more drip feed than episodes are probably going to be

I played Final Shape with my husband, it was absolutely wonderful! A fantastic end to 10 years. Still mad at the price, but it the story has been fantastic. Good job Bungie

Here's my 2 cents as a destiny player since 2014
>Pros
Final Shape is super fun, and the narrative is great to engage in.
The final mission was an enjoyable ending to the light & darkness saga, and I am glad that I was able to experience it since I'm not a huge raider.
The first act within this episode is enjoyable and links with an NPC that we have not had much engagement with.
The weapons and gear from this episode are cool to look at and are very fun to use.

>Cons
The mission requirements to get the new Exotic class item requires 2 people to play the mission together. This isn't as bad as locking it behind a dungeon (3 person fireteam) or a raid (6 person fireteam), but it is annoying to do as a solo player. I will need to experience the mission using fireteam finder (in game LFG) to know if this is a viable option for solo players before I can comment on it.
In the first episode, there seems to be a optional mission that has an extremely high power level cap (Power 2020) with a 10 min timer that can be extended by doing some odd objectives in the game. This mission does have matchmaking, which led me to believe that the power would be scaled as all other missions, but I found I was so incredibly wrong. I do not mind hard missions or missions that require endgame gear to complete, I just wish that if this difficulty is present, then it shouldn't be matchmade with other players.
Prismatic is very fun to use, however unlocking the different fragments, aspects, melees, and grenades seems to be a bit more of a chore than I was expecting. I also seem to be soft locked on my other 2 characters on unlocking the last grenade and melee, as those unlocks are tied to missions that if they are completed on one character, they do not show up on the other 2.

>Things I am wishing for in the future
I, like many others in the destiny community, am dreaming for a day where we can get another community puzzle/event. From the good events, like Corridors of Time, to the worst events, like building the fallen space, each one had it's own bit of fun. I worry that with these new episodic adventures, the community of destiny will never be able to get together again like we have in the past. These community events really set Destiny apart from other shooters and MMOs back in the day, and it's sad that we will probably never see these again.
In the same avenue of community, Clans in destiny don't have the same feel as clans in many other MMOs, WOW and warframe as an example. I've been through 5 different clans in the lifespan of Destiny 2, and each one seemed like it was just a close knit LFG for activities in Destiny. I think that Bungie really needs to figure out what they want to do with clans, and they need to start to make a push for clans to be more meaningful and impactful in the game.

If it wasn't for the monetization, Destiny 2 would be one of my top 5 games. As it stands, I haven't played it in years

I'll be honest, I was led to believe this would be a continuous story told and accessible over the ten-year period, and that I would be able to go back and relive those moments with new lights, teaching and just having fun.
Even if I didn't need to do the older quests for myself, I could introduce new players and get that feeling or give them a little help through the campaign so they may enjoy what we all did as well.
They told us Destiny would be a shared-world-experience that would foster a sense of discovery and exploration. I guess if you call loading into the tower to pick up bounties a "shared experience" then we definitely got it.

Enigma Protocol also came with Episode Echoes. Its a looping activity like the coil, except timed with nodes and mobs to kill that regen time.

people are still in the honeymoon phase of the expansion, there is a bunch of changes that made shit worse, like pathfinder forcing pvp and making people have less bright dust so they have to bite the bullet and either inflate their pvp metrics or buy silver.
they are everywhere, but all hidden behind the spectacle that the campaign was (and the campaign was indeed very nice) as soon as the honeymoon phase ends we will be back to people getting angry.

To be more clear for solo players, you don't need a raid team to do the final shape final mission excision. You can just hop in and join 12 randoms but don't worry because it's like pvp and strikes where you don't require communication like you would in a raid

It’s a rotation… Amazing expansion, okay expansion, bad expansion. That’s probably how it’s gonna go now.
