Bumi was the wild-eyed, eccentric, elderly King of Omashu. As a child, Bumi had been a close friend of Avatar Aang and he remained Aang's only friend from before the Hundred Year War confirmed to still be alive. He became an old and wild man, prone to cackling and snorting laughter at unfunny jokes. Despite his apparent frailty, Bumi was an earthbending master, at one point claiming himself to be "the most powerful earthbender you'll ever see". Bumi's eccentricity arose out of the fact that he always kept his mind "open to the possibilities". As a child, Bumi decided to use the Omashu delivery system as a chute ride, for which Aang dubbed him "a mad genius", a name that Bumi seemed to appreciate. Although Bumi appeared senile, he was in fact a brilliant and patient tactician, willing to wait until the opportune moment to strike in order to produce the most favorable outcome. Bumi carried himself with the same composure during a quiet, peaceful meal as he did when his city was under attack and he rarely explained his actions, which tended to infuriate his subordinates.

Technically, Bumi was the best earth bender of his time. He was more skilled and a stronger earth bender than Toph. being able to lift heavier objects and have more fluid/versatile bending. This was purely because of Toph's age though. It would basically be like comparing Iroh to Azula in terms of firebending.

If the live action series of ATLA doesn't show a 112 yearold earth bender king with abs, IDK if I would still watch it.

His strategy to protect his city was truly genius: By giving himself up he avoided the destruction of his city and the death of both armies' soldiers and his citizens, the fire nation's army might've been way stronger considering their military display in the past, he minimized all negatives so quickly and easily. He pretended to be weak and attacked when his enemy was powerless, he swiftly removed all trace of the fire nation and peace restored.

I'm mad they called his jokes "unfunny" me and my parents actually laughed a lot at his jokes and still reference them to this day

Avitar kyoshi (if im correct) learned an earth bending technique that allowed her to live 200 years. She learned this technique from someone who may have “been older than the four nations” I believe kyoshi was influencing aang to preform this technique while stuck in the ice. This technique involves “making a list of things your body needs and replacing it as needed” I believe boomi may have used this technique to not only stay alive to 112, but to also stay in hos prime.

You have forgot something very important about him, he have the seismic sense, remember when he shot 6 Fire Nation soldiers when he was fleeing the city then stuck the six stones in the face of the Fire Nation Lord, he did that without looking at the soldiers because they were behind him.

In the end he did make Bumi proud, thought like a mad genius by taking Ozai's bending away instead of killing him.

Never realised until now that the "chicken throw scene" is brought up again in LOK. When Meelo tests if Bumi (Aang's son) is actually able to air bend. Funny! :D

Damn, i can only imagine how much Aang and Bumi talked after recognizing him.
I mean, Bumi is the only person who knew Aang from before he was confirmed as the avatar and the only person who could tell exactly what has happened.
