This is awesome! I traveled through Europe in 1999 on $37 dollars per day and assumed that was no longer possible. Supper excited to see people still doing this!

Totally true on the tourist/travelers doING reviews! SPOT On! I try to ask a local and they know the ones that are actually good and not expensive.

We travel a lot too and have developed tons of our own hacks to keep things as budget-friendly as possible – but that tip about discounted days actually saved us more Money! Great video, thanks!

Definitely look for accommodations that include food. Somtimes it's no charge and other times it does have an upcharge but it is cheaper than eating outside the hotel/bnb. We've saved so much money this way.

I like to stay in nice hotels. So I try to save money on food: try not to eat at restaurants, buy meals and ingredients at markets, prepare meals in kitchen if available, drink only tap water if in clean water countries, eat huge complimentary breakfast at hotels and then eat only one meal like early dinner and have snacks in between. Also sleep on overnight trains instead of hotel to save time and money

Thanks for all your tips. I love to travel. I've learned quite a bit of tips along the way, too. I was recently in Vienna, Austria I'm being that it is quite an expensive place to travel to, I decided to stay and in affordable hotel right smack next door to a gourmet supermarket. I was able to buy my meals already cooked at their deli. Good way to save money. I've done thos in others countries too.

I WISH I could travel on 15k. As a single person, you end up spending almost as much as two due to the housing. My goal is to save up enough cash to go next summer/fall. If I sell my house it would be an unending trip.

Another great video thankyou, using night flights can be a way of saving accomodation costs, we did this coming back from Nepal to Thailand, its not the best night sleep but does save a night in a hotel, and you get food as well.

Flexibility is a luxury many don't have, sadly.

really enjoyed this video, great tips! but honestly, some of these money-saving hacks seem a bit impractical for certain destinations. like, who actually has the time to find those cheap hostels when traveling to major cities? sometimes, spending a little more for comfort can be worth it. just my two cents!

That's awesome! Here, I thought spending 6k for 2 weeks was good in europe for a solo traveler. But after seeing this video going to be changing up my strategy.

For my phone service I have a satellite phone for my travels. I can take it everywhere except for China Russia, and some other places I would not go anyways. I use my regular cell phone in airplane mode for pictures.

What do you recommend for the internet while cruising? The cruise internet package is so expensive,

I am doing an around the world trip in September…17 countries in 16 days. It’ll -probably cost me $10K CAD all in. I’ve gone cheap with some things and splurged with others (like a safari). I wish I’d known about Google flights before I booked 🤦‍♀️
