I do not know a ton about sound, but I was thinking about buying one of these for a future task. What I was wondering was what would you use the digital IO in and out for? If I wanted to record to my macbook would I need to use these or could I use just the USB?

Hi, I have an M-Track Plus and can't understand how to records in mono while I'm listening the DAW. I mean: if I leave the monitor mix on "direct" the mic send audio on the left and on the right each but can't hear the base, and if i leave the monitor mix on "usb" i can hear the base but the mic send audio only on the left and with a high latency. This happens in both mono and stereo modes. Why? I have to buy an other audio interface to record with only a mic?

hey david, thatnks for a great review, it helps alot, i just have a question, did you tried it on a PC or MAC? i've been using the M-Audio fast track pro and it burned after i installed the new win8 drivers while it was "updating the firm ware"... so, does it work fine with win 7 and 8?

Thanks for your review.  I got this w/  a Sennheiser MKR4.  Trying to record audibooks from my home studio.  I've read that at least an old version of Pro Tools Express doesn't have a brick wall limiter. Is that accurate with the version that accompanies this interface?

Hey there, hopefully you can see my comment. I'd love to buy the standard m-track (cause it's the only affordable and avaible audio interface in my country). Anyways, would you recommand it for me? (Knowing that i'm a beginner) if yes, what should i expect to find in that box ? A Cd and a cable? How to know if it's not broken and will work great? Is the standard M-Track good? I can't really afford spending money on this. I want to start recording some songs I have, rather than hiring someone to do it for me. I have a behringer USB thing, but it doesn't cut it. This looks great! Could I in theory buy this, a mic, a midi keyboard and just record my guitar and vocals into something like Reason? I have guitar pedals galore, I am assuming that will work with the Insert? Thank you!
