Footage shows meteor lighting up the sky in far north Queensland

A meteor, estimated to be between half a metre to a metre in size, lit up the north Queensland sky as it fell to earth on Saturday night. Residents in towns from Cairns to Normanton reported seeing the bright green flash and hearing a tremendous boom as it broke apart near land.
