I have always wondered about 'why only three phases' and now that you have given an excellent explanation, my questions have been answered. Thank you.

Do you realize how calming your voice is when you say “ watch the video”? When I hear you say it I know I am about to learn something great.

When reversing the direction of motor's rotation we change just two phases, in case of six phases supply system the reversing will be complicated and time consuming.

Previously we said that 3 phase give 1.5 times and single phase give we are saying that 3 phase gives 3 times more power

Cool explanations Sir. I will take some time to look at some clips on working and coiling alternators. It will settle some other questions in the brain that I may not know how to put. Thank you a much.

I'm imagining a system where power is generated by a 6-phase turbine, but distributed by existing 3-phase utility lines; 3 phases go one direction on one set of lines, and 3 go the other direction on the other set of set of lines. Each of the 3 delivered phases would be 120 degrees out of phase, as they are currently. The only thing to change would be the turbines to generate the power, and slightly modifying the transmission lines to head in opposite directions as they leave the power plant. Would this work?

excuse me, you haven't mentioned the relation between number of phases and power

You can convert 6phase into dc to inverter
Or
convert 6phase into UHVDC line

Kenyataan nya sekarang, teknologi mobil listrik sudah ada yang menggunakan 6phase 800v KOENIGSEGG Dark Matter

good Explanation and same way 6 phase is purely benefit the User it is difficult in power producer

A 6 phase system is just two 3 phase systems with 60 degree phase delay. You can try to pack them into a single 3 phase delivery system.
Also with double the wiring on the generator stator the resistance on the rotor is doubled. Energy doesn't come out of nowhere.

A 3 phase delivery system can be seen as three PAIRS of single phases with 120 degree delay each and cancelling out their loopback cable since it's always zero amps. Sounds like SWER (use earth as the loopback) but not even involving the earth at all. More phases will NOT reduce the number of cables per power thus meaningless.

Can we use six phase generators and motors in EVs for better efficiency regarding range and range extender ability of the engine?.

If it is why dont we give 6ph transformers output to two 3phase transformers with balancing, if it happens a generator station can send power to multyconsumers with lo cost

I dont think the materials and size will double...because u use the same diameter circle and u just split the copper wires to 6 inductors...
