I discovered Rob (actually, my algorithm did!) and I’ve been hooked ever since. I enjoy all his videos. Honestly, anyone with as beautiful a smile as his, is someone to pay attention to- to listen to- to learn from. There’s just something about him that makes me feel happier and I hope to one day find the keys to open the radiance that is this man, myself. So yeah- I’m a fan! 😅

I lived in a caravan right beside the beach for 3 years, and I did not even think to do this. Thank you, Robin. I'm going to do that the next chance I get ❤

For anyone wondering there is roughly 35 grams of salt per liter of ocean water.
So boiling 3 liters will get you a month worth of salt, depending on how much you use.

My dad grew up in Greece and he told me how they always got sea salt straight from the ocean. Would he do it now in Florida? Probably not.

Can you spread the water into shallow basin, and wait for it to evaporate? It should be expensive to boil

Really cool and indeed, its not like your steriotype food is with less chemicals, i would say even more. I would make a solar evaporation station from 3 (right, left, under in kube form) mirrors faced to the south. You could make your own clean fuel by fermenting starchrich/sugarrich leftovers. There is a very simple and cheap instruction on instructables how to solar distill alcohol for fuel. Its a set up and forget installation so perfect. Just dont drink the stuff. It probably has too much methanol for drinking but its fine for cooking. I would say, the cleanest fuel available for cooking.

Could just let the water evaporate off...takes a bit longer but is greener

My wife and I spent a day at the beach. It was a beautiful day. Plus I found and transplanted a clump of shoreline sea purslane to my garden and I brought back a few gallons of saltwater. The next day I boiled it down. I haven't needed to buy salt in months. And it is way more flavorful than the mass produced store bought stuff.
