Hello CX. Thanks for these tutorials. I'm used to only flying the airliners. This is my first step into the corporate jets. I never imagined how different the two types of planes really are.

I can setup the FMS and get the plane ready for takeoff. What I am having trouble with is after takeoff, getting the autopilot to fly the plane. Whenever I take off and trim for climb and engage autopilot, the autopilot usually just levels the airplane off. Eventually after pressing certain buttons

If you need to convert a value such as temperature from one unit of measure to another, the Citation X provides a conversion page in the FMS. Press the NAV index key and then move to page two. At line select key 1L you will see "conversion". There are four pages of unit conversions.

Hi,
The value to enter is the ISA deviation from standard, just like you thought. However, that particular entry only accepts deviation in degrees Celsius, so you would enter -13 because the temperature is 13 degrees Celsius cooler than standard. Conversely, use positive numbers for warmer than standard. Remember 15/59 is based on sea level and each 1000' in elevation change will result in a 2 degree Celsius change in the standard temperature...continued on next post

Hey too cool CX! thanks. i was wondering about that, since it says "Deviation' which, as i said below, i take to mean a "difference" between two values. something else i noticed CX, between the E.S V.2, and "other' Brand, and wondered if, since you fly the real one, can clear up for me.
in "other brand, on Tilt Panel, there are two "Red" Fuel Cut-off Switches. NOT in E.S brand. did they simply not model that, OR: did Cessna, in a later version (year model of the X, simply leave that out?

(continued) I get the airplane to start the VNAV climb. However, I'm unsure how to get the plane to climb or descend on it's own without hitting the VS button and adjusting the FPM descent and climbs. Also, I setup my plane for the descent (again, hours and hours of experience in CS 757/767) and when I reach my TOD, the plane just sits there level. After pressing a few buttons, the plane dives into a 6000+ fpm descent and blows through the descent profile. What am I missing here? Thanks!!

is there now way to input obstructions?
and I also seem to not be able to program my flight route from my destination to my alternate.

Hi CX. when we enter an "ISA DEV" value, is it looking for the "Diff" between what ISA - and what our "Current" ambient Temp is outside, so if ISA is as stated above, but it's 36F out, would i enter 23? ( as this would be the "Deviation" from ISA correct? the DIFF between these two values) or do we just enter ACTUAL Temp, from EICAS display? which is right?

Hello.
I have problem with "Takeoff out of limits".
Any weights I have, always the same. How can i get rid off of that???
Regards.

continued from previous post...For example: if the field elevation is 2000', the ISA temperature is 11 degrees Celsius. In this case, you would have entered -9 based on the 36 degree outside air temperature. The good news is that Metar weather reports and the Citation X provide temperatures in degrees Celsius so no conversion is necessary.
