Do you think we will see a more powerful Xbox Series S this generation?

The average consumer has a 1080p60 display or at most as 4k60 display. Right now, the two Series consoles hit those marks. If they are to bring a refresh, it would only be to make those two performance benchmarks more stable.

I think the upgrade that makes the most sense is to offer larger internal storage options.

8K sounded ridiculous to me as soon as I heard it. Most people don't even have 4K yet. 8k doesn't make any sense when many games don't run at a full 4K 60fps yet. I highly doubt people want to go back to 30fps just for an 8K resolution.

I’m definitely in the beliefs that when 6nm becomes available Xbox will use it to make a similar move from Xbox one to Xbox one S, where they made a similar performing box cheaper and have more product available. I have an series X, but hope they do add a sku of an S with a drive, so I can put one in the bedroom for physical movie playback.

mid-gen refresh wont be about 8k, its about having all 3: 4k + 60/120fps + ray-tracing.

These rumors you got to keep in mind that there's a whole sub industry of people who pretty much make a living on the existence of these rumors and "leaks" which when they turn out to be false, the leaker just says, "it was just a rumor guys", or, "it was true but the company changed their mind guys."

The S refresh will be the same as the one to one s refresh. Mainly efficiency based with maybe 1 to 2 FPS between in certain scenarios.

Right now Xbox series x have to sacrifice resolution and frame in order to add ray tracing. Would be nice if you can do ray tracing at native 4k & 60fps standard.

8k doesn't make sense even if there was a 10x jump in GPU rendering. It'd be better used to make better looking games and frames. 4K pixels are already so small you won't be able to tell the difference between it and 8k. At 4k, the resolution chasing needs to stop, because it will just be a waste of power.

I really wanna know if and when Phil Spencer will start taking superhero games seriously and since playstation now has wolverine as a confirmed ps5 exclusive will we finally see a DC Exclusive come to Xbox that is all I care about right now

The Start button hasn't said "Start" since Windows XP? My mind is blown. I really haven't thought about it and I suppose you're right. And now that you say that, I don't know if I still call it the Start button or if it's the power of suggestion that makes me think I do. I suspect I do call it that because the only other thing that comes to mind is Windows or Menu button and neither sound right.

A viable upgrade path for Series S is more memory and a larger internal SSD. The memory increase would at least make it replace the Xbox One X and get rid of this 900p non-sense. 12 GB of internal memory and a 1 TB SSD would make sense while upping the Series X HDD to 2 TB. The biggest disappointment with the Series S is that it has to run Xbox One S versions of backwards compatible games due to its small memory footprint.

what i imagine the rumors are saying are a something like a discless xbox series x, rather than upgrading the s. as we know the s isnt as powerful as the x
