Hearing John Lennon's voice really moved me. I wasn't alive to experience The Beatles but it still moves me like I was forever The Beatles in my heart. ❤❤❤❤

When I bought _Revolver_ in the eighties (when I was a teenager), this album blew my mind. Much later I had access to the lyrics. Great stuff! *The Beatles forever!*

John said in 1980 interview that George came up with a few lines too

I was kind of an Addams Family type kid, very melancholy, back in the 60s. When I heard this on the radio, I thought for the first time that someone out there gets me and how I feel.

According to John’s childhood friend Pete Shotton, Paul had the melody and everything worked out but opened up the floor to workshopping the characters and all that. Ringo came up with the line “darning his socks” line as well as the “writing the words of a sermon no one will hear.” George came up with the “look at all the lonely people” hook and Pete was the one who came up with the idea of ending the song with the characters coming together too late. John evidently contributed very little to this one making it one of the few where he claimed more of a substantial role than he really had. Through all the years since the song was released everyone else’s role has been verified as throwing in a line or two but John.

I’ve been at the graveyard outside of the church where Paul and John met, and there “happens” to be an Eleanor Rigby buried, as well as a John McKenzie down the way, listed as “father of” children and not a priest as the song suggests.

Paul has said that they just went through a phone book and came across the name McKenzie.

One of MANY songs McCartney claims full credit for. Eleanor Rigby sounds very Lennon. Harrison himself even alluded that Lennon wrote most of it. And Harrison also contributed.

You know John loved the song when he admits or claims to have been apart of it’s creation lol

Paul is on record as saying he got McKenzie from a telephone Yellow Pages book. Yet another example of Paul's rewriting of Beatles history to revolve around him. There are numerous examples: Blackbird and the segregation thing, Get won't mention the original meaning....
