You are 3 months too late! I've been waiting for you to review this model. I purchased a 2012 back in February. I drive it daily and have had no problems with it so far. Keep up the good work.

2 years ownership review: car 2009 740Li. Things that broke down:
1. 2 sensors (oxigen sensor and fuel??)
2. Cas4 module
3. Bluetooth module
4. All oil gaskets
5. Water pump
6. 2 front bushings
Car is around 80k miles/135k km. Easy and relatively cheap to fix (not dealerships)

For a bmw it is very reliable(if bmw is your thing you'll be happy with it) and i recommend the car.

the 740i with the n54 is a good buy. they are cheap right now and you can maintain fix and even replace the n54 engines for under $1500 now. ive put 200k miles on my f01 and its just now having electronic power steering issues and i just recently had to replace every control arm on the front suspension and the rear air ride. i replaced the engine for $1400 with a brand new freshly built n54 and the car gets driven daily . it was only about 3k dollars to make the repairs and its brand new again. it drives SO good. i want to get a new 7 series but theres no point when this one is still THIS good of a car.

Second owner of a 2011 BMW 760LI with M sport package, watched this and many more videos before purchase. Only replacement was tires front and back with reg tires not run flats, immediate results of better handling, smoother quieter ride. Only maintenance is oil change, with a trans fluid and filter change in the future. Very enjoyable car, the v12 is extremely smooth with torque from 1500 rpm onward. I steered away from the 750i and li because of his recommendations, and tested a 2016 5 series but found its back seat too small and overall ride comfort was not like the 7. For such a big car it doesn't feel like your hampered by its length and seems to me to handle more like a sport sedan then land yacht.Oh and be prepared for total strangers to tell you how much they like your car. Hope you love your purchase..

Very good video, I have the 2013 740i, with currently 98, 000 miles. No problems " yet". I drive it daily. I get the oil changed at every 4, 000 miles, just to keep the engine running smoothly. I recommend this vehicle.

BMW 730LD, had 56000mls on clock, transmission judder on acceleration once the gearbox was hot. Turned out e-clutch problem and valve body seals, £3400 works like a dream... Took an autoguard warranty they paid over £2000 towards the cost, so was unlucky but lucky if that makes sense.

Great video. I currently own a 2013 F02 N55 LCI MSport and it’s amazing. Heard too many stories about the N63 so that steered me away from it. No engine problems just oil changes every 3000-5000 miles. I also top off the coolant and oil every month or so. As far as electronics, there’s some minor problems (sunshades, vanity lights) but nothing that affects my driving ability. I also love the fact that my car has air suspension in the rear as standard.

You forgot meteors. It's possible for meteors to hit the car .Will be expensive to fix.

Had E38, then Audi A8 but now have the F01, 730d M Sport, great cars!!
Check out for gearbox oil leaks as plastic lower tray warps with heat and can kill gearbox,
Watch out for 20 inch alloys cracking, examine for previous damage/ repairs. Cost £705 for each wheel!!
Lovely machines otherwise!!

Love my 2011 740Li, comfortable, solid, and with few problems.Only compliant has been with the fuel injectors. Which BMW has extended the warranty till 120, 000 miles, no extra charge and no deductible.

Man, I am dreaming of the day to see a happy BMW user who spends less than 6 weeks per year between garages.

Just bought a 2009 750Li with 60, 000 miles. The exact one you said to avoid but meh I love it and it had £25, 000 of optional extras when new. I don't think there's a single thing missed off the spec sheet.
Gonna take it to BMW for a health check soon for peace of mind I think though.
