A year ago now I had a bad fall and felt something in either my hip or lower back crack. Two days later my right leg was completely paralyzed. I went to the ER and they rushed me into surgery that day. I ended up severing a nerve cluster to my right leg and they were able to repair it to function again but I still have extremely little feeling in it. I can walk, I just cant tell if my bath is hot or cold or if my cat is clawing my leg. I've been scouring YouTube for some exercise tips for rehab after the surgery and this video gives me a little hope. My lower back is still paralyzed and I have to use a walker just to get around. My legs work, my upper body works, but there's a disconnect at the waist where nothing works. Bladder, bowel, other important things. It's been life altering. I still get up and walk as often and as far and Im able to though. Going to try this routine out and hopefully regain a little independence.

Hi Matt, I had open decompression L4/L5 laminectomy 12 months to relieve severe spinal stenosis. I walk comfortably but find my balance is off. Also where I once could squat down and stand up again pre-surgery, I now find my legs aren't strong enough to support that action. What can I do to build strength in my legs without hurting my back?

Really useful. Havent been told to do anything other than walk for the first 4 weeks. I'm 9 days post l4 l5 microdiscectomy surgery and this will definitely help loosen you up.

This is very informative. Thanks. I had discectomy 2 weeks ago in Zambia. Am recovering well but i am failing to stand straight and my waist feels very heavy. The numbness on my butt and leg are disturbing my basic movements and exercises. Is there anything i need to do to help straighten me up and the numbness? Thank you

Just out of microdisectomy this morning— this is great but it would better and safer to give a time line with this, first week, second week… .

hello.... is it possible to revisit this critically important topic, maybe a longer video with additional tips. Also maybe pre back surgery strengthening and building up of core muscles etc before lower spine is opened. Appreciate all that you and company provide.

Is it normal to still have a bit of pain in the hamstring area and buttcheek? It’s been nearly 5 weeks since surgery

Thank you for your helpful and instructive guidance. I was diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis at multiple levels and had decompression surgery August 12, 2021 and have not as of yet received my physical therapy appointment. I have completed all steps with slight tension, but a good tension. I will update my progress. Today is 10/06/2021
