How long after Spinal Fusion can I bend? - Dr. Kodlady Surendra Shetty

Usually after Spinal Fusion we don’t advise them to bed for about 3 months because during fusion we will be putting some bone grafts into the disc space or into the peripheral aspects of the spine, which takes 3 to 4 months to heal. So till that time we don’t ask the patient to bend. Maybe after 3 months, we recheck with x-rays and if the implant position is good and if the union is proceeding, then we can gradually mobilized by doing some stretching exercise and then actually doing actual bending. So that can be allowed, maybe after 3 to 4 months, not before that.
