Discussion on DSG GEARBOX by two Volkswagen Users | Is DSG Auto Gearbox reliable?

preview_player
Показать описание
A direct-shift gearbox is an electronically-controlled, dual-clutch,[ multiple-shaft, automatic gearbox, in either a transaxle or traditional transmission layout (depending on engine/drive configuration), with the automated clutch operation, and with fully-automatic or semi-manual gear selection. The first dual-clutch transmissions were derived from Porsche's in-house development for the Porsche 962 in the 1980s.

In simple terms, a DSG automates two separate "manual" gearboxes (and clutches) contained within one housing and working as one unit. It was designed by BorgWarner and is licensed to the Volkswagen Group, with support from IAV GmbH.[citation needed] By using two independent clutches, a DSG can achieve faster shift times and eliminates the torque converter of a conventional epicyclic automatic transmission.[

More you know about VW, more you respect them. It speaks a lot itself. Thank you Manish ji and Paaji 🙏

Kaha se lekar aaye is bande ko..kamaal ka research n knowledge on VW vehicles. I think VW shud make this guy as a brand ambassador in all its marketing campaigns and content. What more can a brand expect from such well-read and passionate fans. volksSWAG... And even the VW staff and factory workers need to be shown Manish's video to inculcate passion and awareness towards VW brand.

I wasn't really a fan of VW, recently test drove Virtus 1.0 and 1.5, I am just stunned by the driving dynamics. These videos make us fall in love with VW

These VW Showrooms & Authorised Service Centres should play this video in their waiting lounges. Such is the level of the content.

Really appreciate the effort for making this informative video series. I liked vw as a brand from long time but didnt knew they invented so many revolutionary technologies and the irony is that they provide these technologies in mass market cars .

A person first needs to understand VW. Until then, its just a car. These are pure driving machines.

Me a Polo 1.0 TSI GT (6 speed TC) driver very happy to watch this video because I love VW. Features are useless if the car isn’t safe & doesn’t put a smile on your face when you drive it.

What brilliant videos - feeling proud owner of VW Polo 1.0 MPI since 2019 October - 3 years + brilliant for city relaxed driving as I don’t speed much and on short trips to wife’s village around 150kms - brilliant on bumpy and village roads.. no issue with ground clearance and great mileage of 21 with cruise control on highways.. loving my Polo and will keep it till 10+ years.. great insight and this shows how far is VW technology ahead of competitors - while there are marutis and Hyundais which are preferable owing to mileage and ease of maintenance.. it will take some time for Indian buyers to be practical.. heads up display, gimmicky features are still preferred by buyers and still people want so much rear space as if they want to sleep in car ..

I concur with his views. I drive a DSG TDI vento. And I fell in love with its DSG from its test drive. The gearshift and power delivery its just superb. I am a bit saddened when they removed DSG from the entry level of Virtus and other VW cars.

Being a owner of Octavia, Honda City, and camry. I love Octavia but you cannot deny the fact that Skoda and vw cars requires significantly high maintenance. It's true they give the best driving pleasure, it's just your choice if you want to go down that path. On the other hand Toyotas and Hondas also have great driving dynamics and you don't push your car to limits every time you drive it. 2022 camry provides great dynamics and reliability when you compare it to superb.
