I tried out the single kettlebell armor building by strength coach @DanJohnStrengthCoach in an EMOM workout. How does it compare to the original double kettlebell version?

The original armor building uses double kettlebells for two cleans, one overhead press, and three front squats. The single kettlebell version does something similar but obviously adjusted to a single kettlebell. Find out what I think after trying this out!

30 seconds is too much rest when switching sides. Dan says do a quick shake before switching sides. After both sides, only then take 30 seconds rest. This will increase the conditioning demands.

This is a great work out for people like me who have the 1 kettlebell. Even at my gym they only have 1 kettlebell per weight. Thanks for posting.

I believe Dan talked about how to do it with one Kettlebell and basically you just do the whole complex on one side, and then switch hands and do the whole complex on the other side. That is considered "One rep" and only after doing both sides do you set the bell down for a rest.

I’ve been doing the following work for approximately one month.

Every minute on the minute.
5 Kb swings w/106
2 clean & press /2 squats (left) 55
2 clean & press/2 squats (right) 55
5 snatches left 55
5 snatches right 55
Repeat for 20 minutes.
No pain, no gasping, no soreness. 👌🏼
IMO, It’s an excellent way to stay strong and mobile, especially at 60 years of age.

I just do the classic 2 1 3 scheme with one bell each side alternating. The is tougher for the lower body and also works well.

I gave this a go as an intro to ABC and it's great. I can probably go up in weight to push myself more but it's an excellent little set

Bit YouTube are not Don g the complex forrest. Ole Chen and Press shift clean and pres to squats, set the Bell Down Shake, clean and pres shift side clean and Press to front squats - this is a Fall circle rest 30 sec

I love this one when i feel weak with a 24kg and the classic with 2x20kg. Besides i only got a 24 kg.

I modified this to be one kettlebell, two cleans, one press, three squats, switch hands and repeat. Adding the extra clean and squats seems to make up for the reduced weight.

I just do the original rep scheme 2/1/3 per side with 1 kb. Its just as good as original. Also i added 2 reps of bent over rows per side after original ABC.
So its :
2 cleans
1 press
3 rack squats
2 rows.
Rest.

You're doing it wrong. The switch needs to happen inside one set.
When both sides are done, only then you take a rest.
To clarify further: In one set you do 3 squats in the double kettlebell complex, but you do 4 squats doing the single kettlebell workout.

I believe you got it wrong. Once you finish your first two squats, you must start again with the other hand (one clean, one press and two more squats). That's one round, not two.

I don't want to be that guy, but after your "first rep, " you shake your hands and start with the other side total of 2, 2, and 4 of 1 set. You only did half the set
