It's so hard to imagine a state of mind in which you don't instantly shut up when this song starts.. like.. how?

Can't imagine what it might've been like to hear that live...

when I first heard this song it was some weird illegal download my brother put on our computer and the song ended around 2:10 before the drums ever came in. I thought that was the song for multiple years until one day a friend showed me the whole thing and I was blown away by discovering the outro. 15 years later this outro still gives me chills

No matter how may times I’ve listened to this song in my life, it still raises every single hair on my body.

This is like a Beethoven piano sonata—rich, subtle, full of human emotion—and yet something we instantly understand despite the musical complexity. There hasn’t been anything comparable since—although it has inspired many, many others. For me Radiohead’s greatest work.

I can't believe they literally never show the bassist like the bassline is literally the best part of the song wtf

How the shit does thom pack a lifetime worth of tortured heartbreak/intense longing level emotion into his songs??!!??!? When the bass and drums kick in goddamn the chills follow every time. This song fucking kills in the best way

Greatest band ever...and one of the best songs ever written. Truly a masterpiece. Seeing Jonny just take it all out on his E string just made it that much more epic.

This was the actual exit music for the Romeo and Juliette movie (1996) with Leo DiCaprio and Claire Daines. The movie also featured the rare Radiohead song “Talk Show Host” never released on an album.

You are on a fucking roll with these hyper-clean videos, brother. This is in a weird (and small) category of songs for me, which are songs that I actually love, but don't listen to frequently because the emotional place they take me to will leave me depressed for a while afterwards. I know that sounds very melodramatic but it's the only way I can think to describe it

[Verse 1]
Wake from your sleep
The drying of your tears
Today we escape, we escape

[Verse 2]
Pack and get dressed
Before your father hears us
Before all hell breaks loose

[Verse 3]
Breathe, keep breathing
Don't lose your nerve
Breathe, keep breathing
I can't do this alone

[Verse 4]
Sing us a song
A song to keep us warm
There's such a chill
Such a chill

[Verse 5]
And you can laugh a spineless laugh
We hope your rules and wisdom choke you
Now we are one in everlasting peace
We hope that you choke, that you choke

[Outro]
We hope that you choke
That you choke
We hope that you choke
That you choke
