A typical vegan answer: you didn't do it the right way. To be honest, there is no right way to starve.

The young vegans and vegetarians in the comments of videos like these... just wait until you’re 30.... or 40.... then come back to report.

Typical vegan comment is ‘you didn’t do it properly, do your research.. as if the human diet is really complicated and complex’. It’s really not complicated, eat animal fats and organs and meat and stay healthy. It’s called bioavailable vitamins, something veggies don’t have. I never eat veggies

I was vegan/vegetarian for 25 years and went the other way... I gained a lot of weight! But I made 32oz smoothies every morning and was always hungry and couldn't stop eating. I am now Carnivore for 3 months and doing MUCH better!

A lot of people don’t realize that bone density can be lost or gained just like muscle or fat! Part of the reason our face loses volume as we age is not just fat or collagen loss, but actual bone loss as well. When I was vegan I remember looking at myself in the mirror one day and thinking WTF, why do I look like a literal skeleton? It was like I had aged 10 years in 2 years. Luckily it was reversible as I am still pretty young.

If the camera adds 10 pounds how is Eugenia Cooney still alive?

It destroyed my whole imumsystem, i nearly needed a organ Transplantation. I did vegan for 16 years. I was absolute sick from this. Human Body is not able to breakdown Plants Organism to get all the macros. Cows do this for us, they have more then 2 stomach to breakdown gras to get all the macros. Eat meat, stay healthy

i'd like to add, that vegans can also develop insulin resistance and become overweight and obese from all the carbs and processed food they eat, and also be anaemic malnourished.

Former vegetarian-to-vegan of 18 years. This way of eating almost killed me, not because of the physical issues (and there were a few) but mostly because of the mental health issues. The vegan community + the food can be a highly toxic combination. I see veganism now like a mindf*ck sly trick. It's hard to find a vegan who isn't full of deep mental health issues, especially anxiety and control issues.

I was vegan until two years ago. A lifetime. I was bone thin. You could see my ribs. My hips jutted out so much, I’d bang them on things. I was also going mentally insane. My personality was nuts. I had so many problems.

Damn 25 years I commend the effort.
I’m sorry to see this.
You look pretty good
But now I just to the part where you said you eat animal products again
Glad you escaped

Y’all trying to blame it on her not taking B-12 but the reality is, any diet that requires supplements is not a complete diet

cultureburns

Sorry but I stopped listening after you said you didn’t want to supplement for B12, vegan diet needs to be supplemented with this. Majority of vegans will agree and educate others on this

I'm a fat vegan, not all vegans are stick thin

35 years of low fat eating veg/veganism almost killed me too! So grateful to be out of it. Wish I could get those years back.

I have a friend who went vegan a few years ago and im concerned for her, I don’t send her every ex vegan story I find because she is always able to rationalize it to herself, usually the go-to argument is “they didn’t do a proper vegan diet”. The problem with this is that its not an argument, its just something she tells herself because she doesn’t want to face facts.

She will have to find out herself, I just want to make sure she doesn’t feel guilty for quitting when bad signs are beginning to show, what im most worried about is how strongly she will hold on ideologically once her body deteriorates and which side will give in first.

Never make it a competition with your vegan friend about who is the healthiest because if they are stubborn they will not want to be the “loser”. A vegan who has dedicated their entire persona to this thinking cannot stop being vegan easily, they are not merely eating vegan, they ARE vegan, their ego is built around this framework, everything about their life and thinking revolves around that ideology.

Its very similar to getting someone out of a cult.

possibly, it appears, us former vegans are amongst the most rapidly growing community online. and interestingly, we all listen to one another and agree with common ground as our meeting point.

I've been thin all my life
Went vegan three years ago and got more thin and people were worried about me
How ever my skin and energy improved
Started eating more(wholefood) calories and my weight is back up
My blood work is fine
I know a lot of people that are non vegan and vegetarian who are underweight and look like shit
