I was in London on 9/11 and the service at St Pauls cathedral which was broadcast through speakers and the crowd was so large it filled Fleet Street. When they played The Star Spangled Banner everyone including us reserved Brits burst into tears. It was quite a moment of solidarity and mourning.

I'm a Scot and now, it's April 2024 and I still miss the Queen as much as the day she passed. She really was our nation's rock.

After the 2005 London subway bombings, a US military band played "God Save The Queen" in front of the British Embassy in Washington DC.

As a Scot who live in the British Isles, I served the late Queen Elizabeth II as a member of the Armed Forces, respect to her for getting the band to play the USA National Anthem

As a brit I am proud of the queen for showing the respect we all felt for the people of the states at that time.

I think the whole world was shook when America was attacked. Most (including Americans) never thought it wld happen. The Queen was a class act!

No, there won't be another like Queen Elizabeth II; she was what was needed for our time.

I was in a Target in suburban Cleveland, Ohio when I received a news notification on my phone that the Queen had died. I had a bit of a freak out cry, and some other women walked over to see if I was OK. I said the Queen died, and they burst into tears, too. She had such an influence on so many people. One of the women was very young, but was still in tears. When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's the Queen was one of the very few women who were married and had children who had a job that I knew about. She was an inspiration to conservative women who were not part of the militant feminist agenda. We saw how to do it gracefully.

We were shocked by 9/11 as was the US about Manchester. And I think the close relationship between the UK and US will stand the test of time. We joke about each other but we share the same respect and values. We will always come together to help each other. Best wishes to US. Regards Chris in Halifax Yorkshire . UK

Queen Elizabeth was born for the right time, especially living during her childhood in the period around the First World War, and emerging adulthood during the Second World War... She was a beacon of stature, in my personal opinion, and keeping her head held high during the toughest of times, when needed. The sad part is I don't think there will ever be another person like her for a few generations... It will be a God-given miracle when someone like her returns, at a time of great need, I think. Her support of the U.S. after 9/11 when we needed comfort most was given at the right time when we were still reeling from those attacks.

I have seen that video of the Star Spangled Banner being played at Buckingham Palace countless times and I am still incapable of seeing it without crying.

As an American, I cried during her funeral. She was from a different era & her death seem to symbolize the end of it. A time when people in society tried to be civil and respectful towards others.

I was fortunate to have been of service to our Queen's mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother as a result of my job at the Home Office in the 1990s. It really brought it home to me what the four letters at the top of many documents that passed over my desk, and on every envelope that left the building, REALLY meant: O.H.M.S. - On Her Majesty's Service. She was the boss - and you knew whose standards you had to maintain...

I'm from Windsor Ontario Canada across the border from Detroit and I have a friend who was a firefighter that went to help when 911 happened. He brought back some steal beams from the wreckage and made a monument that sits on his front yard.

She was one of a kind! To break tradition to play the Star Spangled Banner was unbelievable…she was all about tradition, but she was a better friend and person and I do believe that God has…Saved the Queen….

I wonder if both sides during the American Revolution ever thought that not two centuries later they would become the best of friends. "How good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity." Ps. 133
