First time another nations national anthem was played here, and there wasn't even a state visit, pure act of sorrow and love from HM the Queen.

I remember when this happened. It was one of the greatest gifts given to us as American citizens from the greatest Queen who ever lived. It is because of things like this, her compassion and love for others, that made her the greatest queen that ever lived. She will be sorely missed. ❤

As an American, I remember this and it meant so much during such a tragic and confusing time. Our brothers and sisters across the pond, we appreciate you and send love and prayers for your loss of your Queen. She will always be remembered for her kindness and support. God bless the Queen and England. ✌️❤️

I’m crying! I had no idea she did this for us 😭 To be fair I was 18 and focused on school and our trauma but still! I knew I loved her for a reason ❤ Rest well ma’am. And though it’s 21 years late, thank you, ever so much.

I remember after 9/11 so many nations stood behind us, but the United Kingdom was the first to stand beside us when without hesitation declared war against who ever did this. At the time no one knew what else was planned. It wasn’t words without consequences, and it shows what I hope is an everlasting bond. 🇬🇧 ❤

Was in the London the week before the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 and the band played Frank Sanatra's New York, New York. She was a pretty cool Queen.

Elizabeth II was an ever faithful friend and ally of America, as was her father before her. RIP from your friends across the pond 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

As an American that was the only time that day that I cried. It was very moving. Thank you your Majesty and may you rest in peace.

Thank you so much you were a badass. In America our government didn't do this for us. She held many candlelight vigil's and opened up churches 24/7 for weeks afterwards. We have many American expats living in the UK. She also donated to American Red Cross. In 2010 she visited New York and laid a wreath down.
