A big reach back to the past with this game play video of the original 1984 A&A from Milton Bradley! Enjoy!

I've got a tear jerker right here! The young sons of my best friend (11 and 13, smart boys) were always quarreling and competing. So when I had them both over for a weekend, I introduced them to A&A Classic and let them play the Allies. I said: "This game is geared towards the Allies, so I will play the Axis. But I am experienced at this game, so if you don't work together, I will destroy you". After a round and a half where they didn't listen and went for their own glory... I humiliated them. We restarted and this time... they played as one slick machine. We –they– had such great fun. This was ten years ago, but I truly think that A&A and I really helped them bond.

Good ole classic. I played this so much. It was hard to get other people to play it though. They were intimidated just by the setup. I still love, and play this game, even if it has to be solo.

I just got a used copy of this game and set it up for solo play. I read a post discussing the Soviets attacking Finland/Norway on first turn. They said the move was so powerful that they banned it from their future games! I tried it with equal success, and now my game sucks! I love the double amount of income/troops idea!

I still have this original version of the game. Back in the late 80s and early 90s, my friends and I were playing this Friday nights all night (like the kids in Stranger Things playing Dungeons & Dragons).

The rulebook for the origional actually does say subs cannot shoot at aircraft but it was in a zeperate pamphlet that came with the game

I really enjoyed this game. I was looking for a step up from Risk so got it in about 1984. i at one time had two. Gave one to my grandson, which became lost. The other I gave to my son, but it also became lost. I replaced them with one copy I found in a second hand store several years ago. I still have it and recently played my youngest grandson. I do not intend to let this one go. Nice to have a rememberence of my youth-at least I was younger then. Robert Snyder misses the point of why you did this video. It is for enjoyment and fun.

In this version, you can place fighters on carriers if you buy them at the same time so the UK should have only bought 1 carrier and 2 fighters instead of 2 empty carriers.

In the classic game, if the industrial complex was there since the start of the game, then you can put as many things as you want there. The limited production number only applies to new industries

Interesting. Your game came with the US and German infantry pieces molded in the other's color. I've been playing A&A since it first came out and I've never seen this before.

Thanks for the fun video. Note: original industrial complexes have unlimited production according to the rules; only additional ICs you buy later are limited by the territory’s IPC value.

I have this original game. I just got it down from the attic about a week ago and set it up for nostalgia sake. I found that I still have the customer survey card. I am going to fill it out and send it in to see if there is a reaction from the company. Should be fun.
