Flour Chicharrones

this delicious snacks are made with flour. You can find them in any Hispanic or Mexican grocery store and even on Amazon. The traditional way is to cook it in oil but now days people do it in the microwave and air fryer, other regions cook them in hot salt. I know them as flour chicharrones but some other regions know them as Duros or Duritos, in USA call them wagon wheels, and in Mexico some places call them Viejitas. Best salsas to add and eat this snack, for me are the Valentina sauce and Salsa botanera. normally only salsa is what they add them if you find them in the streets. But trust me crema and lime give to this an extraordinary flavor and consistency.

My neighborhood had a guy who sold these in a bag with lime and la victoria. One of my childhood highlights

I’m able to get a bag of them that size for about 50 cents at winco, so I get 1 or 2 pounds usually and cook all of them to save as snacks for later

I am from Mexico and have never tried chicharrones with cream. I have eaten them with cheese but will give the cream a try, they look good.

I saw those at an international shop, Jungle Jims. I should try these some point.

Wait, do flour chicharrones have pork like normal chicharrones? Just asking, sorry if it's a stupid question.

How much oil do you think you are using there?

Can you mix the crema, hot sauce, and lime together first, then add it?

Aren't they salty? Can't have any sodium. But those look amazingly delicious

I’ve always called the flat ones durros and these wheel ones duritos. At least in San Diego we do. Lol

In many places of Mexico they're also called "duritos".

What do you think is happening if they don't grow but stay small and super crunchy?
