We call that a clamshell where I work. Used to use them a lot for underground j boxes such as quazites or cans. I never put a wago inside one before, but we typically make the connection with either wire nuts or split bolts depending on the job.

The earth sleeve didn’t seem waterproof.

What condition would this be used in? Would water just travel through the earth sleeving

I don't know if I'm missing something, but I don't really understand what the applications of these could be, as they leave basic insulation exposed so they'd need to be placed inside an enclosure. Why not just put the Wago connectors directly inside an IP rated enclosure? You could even fill the enclosure with gel if needed. With these, water could also get into the sleeving of the CPC and could be drawn under the sheath of the cable by capillary action.

Nice useful connector, however not the best demo choice of cable showing twin and earth with an unsealed earth sleeve and is twin and earth rated for use in wet conditions?

Thank you for my daily fix of thunk, shlunck, squish, click, tic tic tic and shlooosh

The problem is the single exposed insulation is oυtside the enclosure. It would fail an EICR.

I think that lot needs to go into another enclosure and then filled with some waterproofing and some waterproof glands on the outer insulation of the cable. In the old days some people used plumbermate but now we have far more expensive gels or setting epoxy resin. To prove the point that this solution is not really viable bury it in your garden about a foot deep and then dig in up in 6 months and test it.

Now the connection is waterproof but not the sleeves you add 😂

Absolutely wrong wrong wrong...according to Dave Savery...should be only double insulation showing out of any enclosure..😊

Doesn't that earth sleeve now allow a direct path for moisture to enter the sealed Wago?

This looks very usefull😊 But in order to use a wago...you must be smarter than a wago!

We used them on 24v ground spots wired in series

Waterproof only at apparence. The insulation of the single wires isn’t designed to withstand humidity 😅

If regs require you to sleeve your grounds then why don't your cables come with the ground already insulated?

I'm confused, single insulated exposed, water to run down the CPC sleeve inside the wago connector . Does this then need a larger gel box 😂. Come on efixx what are we missing

Maybe I missed it when the original video was out but I've just noticed you did a push fit of the last two wires into the wago 🤔

Зачем вы зачистили весь провод, а потом надели маркеры проводов и засунули это все в коробку? Если будет вода или владность это не поможет

if your water proofing them why use the levers ?

Essential oils can spoil Wago conectors please do not try using them in a 1.7 Mhz piezoelectric diffuser
