The Big Picture : India-China ties post-Galwan

In this episode of The Big Picture based on India-China ties post-Galwan. Tuesday marked one year of the Galwan Valley clash in which 20 of our soldiers lost their lives and a number of Chinese troops were also killed. In what was the worst clash between the two countries in over 40 years, the Galwan incident reverberated around the world. The casualties in the clash were the first in the disputed Sino-Indian border since 1975. The Galwan episode led to rapid build-up of forces on both sides of the Line of Actual Control, Both sides moved in tanks, missiles and other heavy weaponry closer to the LAC, leading to a very very tense situation at the border…Following multiple rounds of talks both at the military and diplomatic levels, an agreement was made on de-escalation and disengagement from all friction points in Ladakh…But months after the process began, the disengagement is not complete. So the stalemate at the border still remains. On this edition of the Big Picture, we will analyse with experts the present situation at the LAC… what has changed one year since the Galwan incident… India’s approach to the incident which is being seen as a major punctuation in the bilateral relations between India and China and what does the future hold for both neighbours.

1. Chinese focused mainly on Siachin, Galwan areas, depsang plateau, Kailash Range.
2. Both sides always wanted to create a buffer zone near Galwan.
3. Chinese are demanding area in Depsang side, North Bank of Pangong Tso.
4. Infringement and stalemate persists in the areas above mentioned.
5. AFTER GALWAN: Last year was clarifying moment for us with China.
6. In 2013, 2014 we still had some stakes in China but now it s clear that China means only BUSINESS.
7. It has badly inroaded in Tibet...expanding Business there.
8. There are 120 countries which have maximum trade with China, For India it is a largest Trade partner.
9. Trade decoupling between India-China is not happening, In Telecom it happened.
10. India can threaten through QUAD, USA, G7: Has Global power, US now operating around Taiwan.
11. World realized China is growing as a threat and many are working to tackle it.
12. India has to put Its own energy to counter China

2. Chinese will try to link border issue to other thing: G7, QUAD, Pandemic, Virus is not natural, Chinese involvement in this, Australia joining Malabar exercise.
3. There are many theories why China did so, what are its intention.
4. But above everything, geopolitics still remain.
5. S Jayshankar said: It cannot be business as usual with China.
6. Border has gone beyond red line, It has become major constraint between two.
7. 5G, Apps Ban have increased concerns.
8. US, NATO, G7, EU are identifying China's malign competitor, which has Hegemonic ambitions.
9. For BRI, African inroads: Has strategic benefits of its own,
10. China will be facing Investigation in : WUHAN LAB LEAK.
10. TO COUNTER CHINA: G7, US, Germany, Japan, Australia have huge trade with China all of a sudden Economy cannot be de-linked.
11. See Germany: 12000 trains traveled between China and Germany no stops in between.
12. This huge Globalized country has huge stakes, We need to change this and create alignments.
13. India has to create its own upliftments and reduce dependence on China.
14. We have to now create thought processes on how to handle cyber, space wars and other border less technology.
