This video explains how to approach SAT problems that involve evaluating functions. Function notation, evaluating functions, and composite functions are discussed. Seven problems from the Official SAT Practice tests from the College Board are solved and discussed:

- SAT Practice Test 10, Section 4, Problem 9: This problem is demonstrated evaluating a function by putting an input value into the function
- SAT Practice Test 4, Section 3, Problem 4: This problem is demonstrated evaluating a function by putting an input value into the function when there are more than one occurrences of the variable in the function
- SAT Practice Test 4, Section 3, Problem 2: The problem requires solving for the constant in the function first with one fact and then being able to evaluate the function after that
- SAT Practice Test 1, Section 3, Problem 10: The problem requires solving for the constant in the function first with one fact and then being able to evaluate the function after that this problem can also be done with a shortcut by noticing that the input value is squared so the value of the function will be the same for inputs that are negatives of each other.
- SAT Practice Test 9, Section 4, Problem 24: This problem requires you to evaluate a given function with the input of an expression and then setting that equal to the other function and then solving for the missing variable.
- SAT Practice Test 8, Section 3, Problem 15: This problem involves composite functions where you have to calculate the value of one function first and then put that value into the other function
- SAT Practice Test 2, Section 4, Problem 10: This problem involves composite functions where the function itself is not given but the outputs of the functions can be used to solve the problem.
