Of course it's the higher resolution used for the Tab S. Just think 4K displays. They make even the fastest computers slow to a crawl due to all the extra pixels they gotta push around! Thanks for confirming what I suspected though. Like you said the specs on the Tab S would make you think it'd be a lot faster but that would only be true if it was running the same low resolution that the Tab A uses. This is why on on these new low end laptops you'll also see them running very low resolutions too.

Don t compare an 8" tab S against a tab A 9.7" is not acurate due to tab A 8" has different specs than tab A 9.7".
Next time compare same size tablets for fair and more acurate results. Thumbs down👎

Samsung Tab S is a flagship tablet with a flagship price...
Samsung Tab A is just a low end tablet with flaship price...

I think Tab A was designed for readings...its low resolution and wide shape format compared to others tell us it...so it mustn't  be compared to premium or faster ones.

I'm a student and I wanted a samsung tablet so I can check emails, update my website and take pictures of my art work which I could upload instantly. I liked the appearance of the tab s I looked good quality and because I'm a creative student I like seeing my digital in good resolution. The tab a first attracted me because it comes with an s pen which would come in handy with my studies, but it's plastic appearance really put me off so have to get it a good case. Can anyone help?

The tab A is faster and more smooth because of the new touchwiz interface that is the same as on the s6

while the flagship s is just 33, 500 or 335 dollars
