Fix -Rings and bands on video / photos taken with Sigma Art lenses on 5D Mark IV Canon EOS R

Some Sigma Art lenses like the 35mm F1.4 is causing some strange bands and rings to appear on photos and videos shot on the Canon 5D Mark IV. Charlie from Topic shows you a quick fix for this and explores the issue a bit.

It seems that there is some sort of incompatibility between Sigma lenses and the new Canon camera bodies. A tweak in the Lens Aberration Correction Controls on the camera seems to be a work around for now.

I hate to sit here as a 13-year wedding photographer veteran and admit that we got new cameras right before we shot a wedding and hadn't tested out all of our lenses while testing the cameras. These bands were showing up in all of my photos with the sigma 35mm art lens and I thought they ruined very important photos. I was able to find this video and fixed it in camera but your whole video wouldn't load with zero cell service, so I was still in low-key crisis mode. Before I came back to this video, I cried out of relief when Lightroom fixed the raw files. Perhaps for future viewers of this video, putting in the caption that Lightroom will fix them could save someone else from the emotional pain I was in. Overall, thank you for this video. You saved my a$$.

Same with the Tokina 11 to 16 weird vignetting in the corners with the 5d mark iv, this trick fixed the problem thanks a lot for this video!

Still helpful to this day, sir!!! I was very unhappy with my full frame Tokina 16-28 2.8, I thought I would never be able to get a clean shot under F 4 and that defeated the purpose of the whole lens! Your video was perfect in every way though and it really fixed it in a blink!! This is on the EOS R 😊

Ohhhh my god thank you so much for this. I bought this lens from an airport and when I got home my cameras shutter kept jamming, I was getting those bandings and I kept getting an Error 70. This video saved my life. Definitely subbed

My Sigma 50 1.4 showed significant banding in both still and video on my 5D IV. Change the setting and it rectified it for both from the photo settings. Thank you very very much! Was at a loss.

just received my 35 1.4 from winning an auction on ebay, totally excited till I noticed the bands, and an error message instructing me to reinstall my battery on my 6d mark ll. This video fixed both problems, thank you so much for this! :)
