ABOUT: Ledger is the largest hardware wallet manufacturer in the world with over 3 million wallets sold as of last year, and it's up to 5 million this year! They currently offer 2 of the best hardware wallets on the market - the Nano X which is their current flagship device, and the Nano S Plus which was released in April of 2022 as a more affordable option. So the Stax is going to be their NEW flagship device. It has features to make it way more user-friendly than the Nano X, but basically has the same core functionality - so you can use it with all the same wallets, blockchains, and dapps. So I’ll be mostly comparing the Stax to the X since you’re essentially paying for a more user friendly experience.

Imagine if it also had integrations with virtual or physical credit cards. So no need to have different compartments for everything and you have it all on demand, that would be insane and I bet later we'll see such a thing. Because people nowadays have separate wallets for their discount and debit cards too, lol. Then it would be worth the 270$~.

Note that the STAX is EAL-5+ certified instead of EAL-4. This is a huge security advantage.

I have an original Ledger Nano S, so keep that in mind when I say that Ledger's tech support sucks. I cannot get Cardano to work with it (addresses don't get displayed on the device when they're supposed to), and I have tried twice in the last two weeks to get tech support about it, and while I got emails saying they received my support request, I have STILL not heard from them. I ended up having to go with a soft wallet for my Cardano.

Biggest downside I see is it doesn’t have a backlight or so they haven’t said it does. All the pictures of it they make it look like bright white background with black text however videos of people holding it look very gray and kindle like. I can use a nano X in a dark room but this will need a light. That’s the only thing I feel like a lot of people will be bummed about.

I know the device isnt connected to the internet but wouldn't it easier to send an update over bluetooth about how much you have? The coins are still not stored on the device and no secret information would be shared during this process right?
