Hello, Everyone, Welcome to HowFixit, in this video guide, I going to show you how to clean ps5 dualsense controller after liquid damage.
The game controller is the most frequently damaged device by juice, cola, tea, coffee, and if it happened to you, don't worry, you can clean the ps5 controller yourself from sticking buttons.

Tools you need to repair your PS5 DualSense controller:
- Phillips 1 screwdriver (if using HowFixit screwdriver kit this is Phillips 2)
- Plastic opening tool
- Tweezers
I recommend using isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs for cleaning. No solvents containing chemical elements, only isopropyl alcohol.
Also, I recommend using a magnetic mat during the repair process and laying out each screw and details step by step. This will help not to get confused during reassembly and most importantly, due to the magnetic base, you will not lose the screws.

Watch out when reassembling - there is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cut at 26:56 where it skips past screwing in the two screws that go just above the rumble motors. If you're wondering why you've got two screws left over at the end, this is probably why!
It's also not clear on the video, but it's best when replacing the battery holder to tuck the red and black wires from the rumble motors behind the two little legs of the battery holder. Otherwise those wires will stick out and get caught when replacing the back cover.

Just wanted to say thanks for the video, my man. i didn't spill cola on it luckily but when my toddler was sick this week she had a bucket with a bit of water on the floor in case she needed to.. you know throw up while she was watching tv. She didn't throw up but when she moved the controller fell into the water and being completely submerged for a few seconds.

I waited a few days to let it dry. it did charge, but the ps button didn't work so I couldn't turn it on. I tested it using game pad tester and saw that it did work, except for the ps button and also the buttons on the right side were weird, i press the circle button and i saw that i "pressed" all the buttons.

long story short, since the controller was gone anyway I used this tutorial to try and clean the thing and while i didn't go further than the connector strip and the button rubbers it worked!

My uncle recently gave me a PS5 controller that his child threw water on. The PS button kept enabling without me pressing it. I was puzzled. 11:11 As I figured on my own controller, the DualSense buttons are made of acrylic plastic and will crack from contact with the Isopropyl Alcohol. So I would recommend using just water with a light detergent like soap or dish soap for cleaning plastics (just make sure to dry them properly afterwards).

Got "something" over my pad and had to wash it clean. Disassembled and reassembled it. Worked so far but it seems like my conductive film is defective. the PS button doesn't work and i can see the traces that go from the home button to the back side of the mainboard being disconnected. Thanks for the Aliexpress link, will post back when i have replaced that.

I had a coughing fit while drinking yesterday and spilled a very small amount of juice on the controller. Today, the x and square button started sticking. Only bought it a month ago, I don't remember the DualShock controller ever being this fragile. 😑

I spilled stuff on it but it still works it was wet in multiple places but I wiped it off and cleaned it with windex i didn’t open the controller but it still works fine
