The He1000se is my perfect headphone for my listening preference, as we all have different ears, I encourage you to remember that everything Josh says, is his OWN preference and you might hear something a completely different way .
I run my he1000se on a topping d90 and A90 which would traditionally be seen as completely cold and analytical ... I agree with the analytical part .. but my gosh, the ENJOYMENT factor is RIDICULOUS. It's the most well rounded headphone I ever tried and thus had to buy it.
I always looked for a headphone that was supremely detailed, wide and fun Ito impact, all in one package. And I found that in the He1000se

It's also super important to understand that with DAC chips, the amount of things the unit does outside the chip really makes a difference. If they decide they don't want to use a section of the chip, and re-implement it themselves, they'll get better performance. So an older dac chip unit can totally sound better than a newer one, if they decided not to use some parts of it. That said, newer chips still give a better base to build off of usually.

Hey Joshua, I’d love to get your thoughts on the Rosson Audio Design headphones.

My current chain is: Holo Spring KTE dac -> SPL Phonitor -> 1266 Phi TC... The Phonitor is a great amp with most of my other HPs but not "enough" for the Phi TC. Currently saving for a Flux Volot or Xi Formula S + Powerman combo. Once I get the amp right I'll be done and @ endgame.

Damn what a god-like setup! Maybe a good idea is the following for a 500 dollar setup; Topping MX-3 speaker & headphone DAC/AMP(130), HD58X (170) and some Elac Debut's/Q acoustics/Dali's or another good 200 dollar-ish bookshelf speaker set! This is my dekstop setup and I think it absolutely ROCKS from a versatility and price to performance standpoint :). Cheers from the Netherlands

Jokes aside, this is pretty awsome. My "one setup to end them all" dream rn is about a topping d70s (or maybe soncoz sgd1, something on that range) + a90 and Zmf Veritè C.
I'm gonna kick the bucket before I can afford that but wishing is tax free at least.

I still wish you would do a video on sources. Compare high end DAPs. Compare different kinds of PCs and laptops. Heck, even smartphones. You always talk about equipment but not about what's sending music to them!
