Great video! One quick correction, though. According to the Manley website, the feedback control is not a gain boost. It feeds signal back through the tubes for either a more tube-y or a more linear sound signature.

Alright Josh, I will take them for $50. Take it or leave it. Let me know.

Josh, to answer your final question, I suggest you listen to John Darko's latest review from 3/23/21 titled. "All you need is...?". I really enjoyed his video on 'value' - as I do enjoy your comments too.

I spent $200 on each component - dac, amp, headphone - pretty happy with my setup😁

I can't imagine spending over $1k for each component so definitely under $5k. But right now I'm definitely in the <$1k camp for gear.

My current System (Arya, D70s, A90) cost 2820€.
For me personally, there's no competition for the Arya - that's why I bought and kept them, even though I didn't feel comfortable spening this much on headphones.
Since I'll use the D70s and A90 (as preamp) for my speaker setup in the future, I didn't mind paying ~1100€ for those components. Not to forget that both units sound incredible.

Gotta be honest, I love my current headphone setup and I don't think I'll change it in the next 5-10 years. I wouldn't pay more for it, though.

I loved the episode where you did a triple threat build with 3 entry level headphones. It would be cool if you did another version but with mid tier headphones. Maybe for $2000 or around $500 for each individual headphone

I think $3k would be the max. Maybe a LITTLE more.
$1k for Amp
$1k for Dac
$1k for headphones.

At the moment I'm running
Topping A90 AMP
IFI Zendac (hoping to upgrade to Topping D90)
Focal Elears (With Clear Pads)

Very thoughtful review! Much appreciated! I actually am blessed and lucky enough to have the Abyss 1266 and the Manley Absolute, as well as the eleven XI Audio Formula S, Sagra DAC and Powerman power supply, as well as a Chord Qutest DAC. I love mixing and matching these and feel fortunate at 80 years old to have been able to save up for such an obvious luxury. Given that you have such a high opinion of the Abyss 1266, it would be great to have you review the eleven XI Audio Formula S, Sagra DAC and Powerman power supply one day. They have been designed to pair with the Abyss 1266 and while, obviously, the whole set-up is tremendously costly, it would simply be extremely interesting to hear if you think the teaming up of Abyss and elevenXI Audio has produced a top quality pairing. Once again, thanks so much for what you’re doing. ALWAYS informative and well done!

So, my actual setup is:

Susvara - $6000
ifi Pro iDSD - $2500
ifi Pro ICAN - $1800, which is just over 10K.

Have Stellias, A8000s and HD800Ss as other options. Really curious about the Phi now, especially compared to Susvaras, but I just can't get over the aesthetic. Plus I don't have $6000 more for headphones :P

Max for headphone - $2, 000
Max for Dac and Amp - $600 a piece
I just notice so much more difference between headphones compared to changing DACs and Amps

Hi Josh
I always admire your video quality, it's top notch. I'd therefore find it really interesting to hear you talk about your camera gear, things you've learnt about filming, editing etc?
Keep up the good work!

Great job on video as always Josh... but... Not one to judge on style at all BUT.... That Manley HP amp is one ugly duckling considering Manley's beautiful designs from before- Im thinking of the amazing Stringray, CARDIOID TUBE mics, and amps likes NEO250 Classic Amp, and preamps (Force or Core, Numu even the Core and VOXBOX)... it's not a useful design either for desktop... yea it could hold one headphone but it's not pretty like typical Manley designs... but I am sure it sounds great.... my 2cents
