Starting a membership site was probably one of the best things I have ever done for my business. But, the biggest question I get asked is how much content do I need to get started and how much do I release on a monthly basis.

Great content Carrie! I launched my membership site + app last fall and I used your launch tips videos! Thank you :) Something I've noticed with people creating content for their membership sites is that they over-promise as they're building and launching their site, ultimately making their business nearly unsustainable. I definitely recommend that people who are building and launching their membership site consider how they can provide content & value in a sustainable way. I offer a Yoga Class + Yoga Calendar each month so everything on top of that (like member only videos, pre access to youtube videos etc) is a perk and a way for me to over deliver. Yes it may seem like you need to promise this, that and the other to get people to sign up right away but if you're transparent about how you intend the site will grow people will happily get on board (especially if you have a founders rate or some kind of time limited discount for early bird sign ups) Once again, great content & thank you for creating a space where we can learn & grow!

I think the biggest takeaway from this (for me anyway) is to plan ahead! I think having 3 -4 months worth of content planned would really take the pressure off! I plan to use that tip. Thank you Carrie!

Planning a few months in advance and having a theme for each month definitely makes running a membership site more durable. it also keeps it focused so members know exactly what they are paying for :) Thank you so much for all your tips!

Love this series, Carrie. I launched a membership site last year but couldn't keep the momentum going and felt overwhelmed and burn out. As a result, I lost the few members I had. So I put it aside and went back working on building my business and working with my clients one on one. A few months back I thought I would give it another go, which I also ready have a few members. So I streamlined how I would run it so I wouldn't be overwhelmed by all the workload.
