I use Differin gel. I am old so I need the highest I can get OTC. Stay out of the sun ladies- love your Auntie Crypt Keeper.

I use tretinoin 0.1% for about five years. It took me one entire year to get use to it, but now I can use tretinoin + glycolic every other day. I started to use it for my acne but now I use it for the anti-aging. Love from Brasil 💙

I think I am the only person I know who does very well with tretinoin. My skin loves the stuff! When I first started it I used it once a week to start very cautiously and even now with skin used to it I still tend to every other to every day. If I use it on back to back days (nights) I will then skip one. I had a little bit of flaking at first about every 2 weeks but not bad. Then it stopped. I also started very, very slowly. I went from once a week, then twice a week and gradually built up over months.

Outside of the tretinoin question, Dr. Dray mentioned Eucerin with urea for the face, only available through Amazon because not made in the US. The stuff makes your face With the tretinoin and the Eucerin with urea my skin care is perfect and at 58 now my skin is better than it has looked in years!

I recently discovered brand Geek & Gorgeous, they have wonderful retinal serums, that are affordable, vegan, cruelty free (and for those who suffer from seborhea and have sensitive skin, also fragrance and drying alcohol free + Malassezia-safe). They don't use parabens, sulfates, etc. but at the same time say they don't believe in toxicity of these ingredients and don't support any form of fearmongering. The brand tells you exactly the percentage of actives in their products, which I appreciate. Absolutely recommend!

I am 27 and have normal/combo skin. My skin has mellowed out since I started taking care of it and it now leans more normal. Before I got into skincare I was more oily. I typical get breakouts on my cheeks and I'm trying to get more into anti aging skincare since I'm approaching my 30s so I really appreciate all the time and info your share with us for free!

I have dry, mature skin with hyperpigmentation, melasma and rosacea. Before going to Agency's Tretinoin, I used Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 10. It is a 0.1% Retinal serum, very hydrating and never caused any irritation for my skin. I was shocked at how smooth my skin began to feel.💖💖💖

I've been using adapalene for 5 years now and I've definitely have experienced improvements. I get way less breakouts now, sometimes even nothing in months. My pores look smaller and less visible. My PIH from past breakouts are completely gone. I am so thankful for this product because it has simplified my routine. I don't use other actives or other chemical exfoliants anymore. Although I do still use glycolic acid once a week.

A cheaper but great option for retinAl (either in 0.05% or 0.1% strength) is Geek&Gorgeous. Avene also have some, but they are not cruelty-free.

Friends- Geek and Gorgeous retinal is $15-ish and so so so good. I wish Cassandra would review their line.

I remember trying Drunk Elephant’s A Passioni Retinol cream 2 years ago. It was a mess. The irritation and breakouts I got due to the amount of “other” supporting ingredients they shoved in there. NIOD’s modulating glucosides saved me from that mess. I’m now using 0.1% Tretinoin Microsphere Gel and never looked back. My advice is if you’re just introducing a retinoid in your routine, try and look for a retinol with minimal ingredients list because if you start with a retinol product with several other supporting ingredients, you wouldn’t know if you’re just purging, allergic or irritated.

I'm 24 and wanting to start using retinol! Currently I just got and been using stratia's night shift cream with 0.15% retinol. So far it's been really gentle and hadn't had any downsides yet! Thanks for this video guide, I'm quite curious of what else I could use for my retinol journey :D

Thanks Cassandra, great vídeo! The one retinol my oily annoying skin likes is actually retinal, its the Geek and Gorgeous A Game retinal serum. No unpleasant wide effects, just clarear skin. 🥰

In my twenties but I’ve been using Retin-A micro 0.04% _(0.04% Retinoic Acid in Microspheres)_ for years now. It really transformed my skin and enhances every other product in my routine.

I still get some pimples around the time of my period so I’ve tried using stronger percentages of Tretinoin in the past but I find the benefits don’t really outweigh the disadvantage of making the skin more sensitive & prone to dehydration.

I’ve found the combo of using 0.04% Tretinoin Micro at night and using OTC Adapalene in the morning is PERFECT for my skincare needs around the time of my period. It’s so wonderful.

Both my daughter and I now use adapaline gel based on your recommendation. Love the stuff. My daughter's acne is so much better! Not sure about my wrinkles yet, but it's helping some of my hyperpigmentation. ❤️

I love Acne Free’s adapalene; it absorbs nicely and helps my adult acne and oily skin. I hope it’s helping with fine lines and wrinkles. I hear different things, that it works for anti-aging, but also that there aren’t enough studies to show that it does.
