The new Star Wars series “Andor” is quickly becoming a fan favorite — and for good reason. While many renditions forget the epic anti-tyranny message integral to the story, Andor effectively shows the courageous pursuit of freedom against a dictatorial government.

I really liked Andor, but I will say as a diehard Star Wars fan, I like the Mandalorian more. Andor was head and shoulders above Book of Boba Fett though

Please make a full length video on this show, it deserves it.

It started really slow, but looking back I think it was best that way. Not everyone is as appalled by tyranny as I am, and it's best to pick up the stragglers first before it fully fires up the anti tyranny train (which is mostly season 2 I guess). I greatly enjoyed it and its message

I liked this one's "THE MESSAGE".

Andor and The Sandman were the two best shows of 2022. Stellan Skarsgard deserves an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor. His monologue in Episode 10 is amazing.

I feel like Andor was too constrained by the limits of being a Disney Star Wars product to really do what it wanted to do. No matter what at the end of the day the show had to adhere to limitations that would allow parents to feel safe letting their kids go to the store and buy Andor playsets and figures and legos.

There is also the inherent problem of it being a prequel about a specific character who isn't terribly interesting. We know how Cassian Andor meets his end already, so the show has to focus on the journey, yet Rogue One did a better job of who Andor was than an entire season of his show did.

The only things that I really loved about the show were the occasional uses of real sets which made everything feel lived-in (up to a point - they frequently go too far with the CGI) and how they allowed some Empire characters to have positive traits. Syril is relentless and forthright. Deera is resourceful and headstrong. Instead of mustache twirling evil monsters they felt like actual people, which was a nice change of pace.

It is genuinely unfortunate that it came out after Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi because if it hadn't I bet way more people would be talking about it. But the attitude of 'fool me once, shame on me...' is completely understandable when it comes to Star Wars under Disney.

I wasn't really amazing but it was good. it just seems amazing because of how much it jumped in quality versus the crap we just got before it, namely the sequel trilogy and the mostly boring Boba Fett.

It still didn't feel like SW precisely - I think owing to a lack of Lucas's filmic language imo. That being said, you said something that's critical to what makes these spinoffs actually good: that they must convey the significance of what happened in the OT. It's what spererates Andor from The Sequels - one makes them even more significant; the other makes them meaningless.

Is kathleen kennedy still at the helm? …. Nope.

Mmmmm. It's alright. It definitely gives any anime's pacing a run for its money.

That’s great, but I’m not gonna watch it. Disney had their chance. They should sell it back to George Lucas.

Sadly this was created before the current trash like Leia (sorry Kenobi - it’s easy to forget who that show is about) and was released later than expected. It’s too late for the powers at Disney to understand that what we want is good stories not half-assed fan service.

No. It maybe Dysney Star Wars at its best but it’s not Star Wars at it’s best.

False it’s not Star Wars at all which is ironic that the best thing Star Wars has put out is a show that could take place in our universe. I wonder why they put their best writers and actors in this show yet did nothing with Obiwan…

You won't catch me watching modern star wars even with a gun at my head.

This is what they'll do to regain people's trust and then BAM! wokeness by the loads when enough people fall hook line and sinker.

I find it more cyberpunk than Star Wars. Not my cup of tea but to each their own

I might call it a good show (I haven't watched it). I _would not_ call it good Star Wars.

Also, it's a Disney product. We don't support Disney products.

I had stopped watching a few weeks ago. Maybe it deserves a second look. Star Wars could really use some good stories. Maybe regions of the Mouse Empire are still able to produce good work.
