Identifying the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

The book of Revelation describes 4 mysterious horsemen that are released upon the earth during the tribulation. Does the Bible tell us who these four horsemen are, and where they come from?

As a Young Marine you invited me to, a meeting and unfortunately, I had other plans that weekend. Mr. Pearl, my father loved this poster and i gave him mine, he framed it and looked at it daily, studied it really, for his last year here on earth. Went home this past April. Said he wanted to memorize it to compare to what he would learn when he got home. In a way, your painting is being discussed up at home. Just wanted to let you know.

I thought the pale horse was determined to be green/chloros, pale green. That's what my pastor has taught.

People need to understand that Jesus taught spiritual concepts using parables. The book of Revelation is revealing spiritual realities using symbolic language, not world events using literal language.

Revelation 13:7 tells us that satan was permitted to age war against the Saints and conquer them.

Revelation 6:2 tells us the first horseman comes to conquer. This is describing the spiritual war waged against the Saints, not physical war.

The 2nd horseman destroys spiritual peace.

The 3rd horseman brings spiritual famine meaning that many will fall away from the faith. The wine and olive oil are spared because it is a reference to products of the olive tree and grape vine which are symbols of our relationship with God.

The 4th horseman represents widespread spiritual death of those who fall away. That is why it is followed by Hades.
