Hey J. You certainly did your homework, wool is full of lanolin neutral oily waxy and by the by extremely water proof back in the day fishermen’s wives knitted them heavy wool jumpers which of course kept them warm but it also kept them dry. I find when I go a bit nose blind if I cup my hands around my nose and mouth and inhale and exhale 4or5 time my nose neutralizes being so used to my bodies natural breath, same goes for everyone else of course, and then I can resume try it yourself without even sniffing a fragrance after you do it, just sniff the air and see how fresh it can seem peace out, great subject, side note imagine sniffing various coffee scents and then trying to clear your nose by sniffing COFFEE BEANS daw seems a futile exercise lol ✌️
