Australia, with its vast and ancient landscapes, holds secrets written in the stones and craters that dot its terrain. In this video, we embark on a journey through time, exploring the colossal asteroid impacts that have left their mark on this continent.

Our exploration begins with the fascinating story of the East and West Warburton Basins. These two basins, buried deep beneath the surface, are believed to have formed from a dual impact event—a rare and monumental occurrence that could have dramatically reshaped the land and life around it. Could these basins be the remnants of one of the most significant asteroid collisions in Earth's history?

Next, we delve into the mysteries of the Deniliquin impact site. This recently proposed impact structure raises intriguing questions about the forces that have shaped Australia's geological past. Could Deniliquin hold the key to understanding the dynamics of massive impacts and their lasting effects on our planet?

Our journey continues as we investigate MAPCIS (The Massive Australia Precambrian-Cambrian Impact Structure). Located in the remote regions of the Northern Territory, this hypothesized impact site is thought to be among the largest on Earth. We'll explore the evidence supporting the existence of MAPCIS and what it might reveal about the planet's ancient climate and environmental shifts.

Finally, we travel to Western Australia to visit the enigmatic Spider Crater. This unique and well-preserved impact structure, with its distinctive radial fracture pattern, offers a glimpse into the powerful forces at play when an asteroid collides with the Earth. We'll examine the geology of Spider Crater and unravel its fascinating story.

Join us as we uncover the hidden histories of these four massive asteroid impacts that have shaped Australia's landscapes. Through scientific investigation and breathtaking visuals, we'll journey into the past to reveal how these cosmic collisions have influenced our world.

The 5th impact was at the Olympics, where the Raygun Crater was formed..

Never ceases to impress me your knowledge back up with facts.

Amazing how many impact sites are being found nowadays. Probably (if we had no tectonics) and peeled back the flora on Earth it would look pretty similar to the moon. Makes me nervous, cos it's only a matter of time. Too many rocks flying around out there.😳😳😳Thanks for sharing your very interesting discoveries.

Thank you for reporting information in such a way that the average novice can understand it. Your topics also keep more educated well informed. I know a lot about Geology from my College days and I am absolutely amazed at the diversity and sheer size of Geology in Australia... cheers mate..

These documentaries are excellent, Australia has an ancient history and all these events were no doubt witnessed by Aboriginal people and passed down in Dreamtime stories. Keep up the good work!

Ok, so now find out I’ve lived on top of a extinct super volcano when I lived in Mt Evelyn, now found out I lived in the impact zone of biggest asteroid impact currently known when I live in Echuca, close to Deniliquin.
Waiting for your findings for central/Nth Qld to see if I am now living in the impact zone or volcano field of another huge prehistoric geological event :)

I used to know Bert Cramer White Gums Station Alice Springs - he wrote a book (Comet Alice-3 comets and a camel) wherein he claims to have been one of the first to correctly identify Gosse's Bluff as a comet impact site. He also claims that at least 2 other comets struck the Alice Springs area and another huge one struck around the Tennant Creek area. have you heard of it

Great video as always ❤ wouldn't be surprised if we started finding impact craters everywhere and Australia is an ancient continent so would make sense

Horrific global disasters 😮
I hope we can survive the Earth for the future 🙏

I like it when you associate impacts with extinction events and\or major changes to the Earth's climate. I suspect that over time, more will be revealed.

Re the item on deneloquin possible site. What are the unthinkable temperature levels hypothesised? Same goes for the unthinkable amount of time the earth would have been shrouded in dust particles?
I'm curious about the details but don't have the background to fill in the blanks.
Love the stream ❤

@ozgeology suggest a trip to the simpson desert dunes to get samples based on mapcis and Warburton sites as most likely deposits under the dunes to hold their structure, also note the change of direction of the dunes layout at around 27°02'33.4"S 136°33'24.1"E looks like the their was a change in structure layout which makes me think mapcis shockwave zone may have embedded here also. i was right on king island gold i'm quite sure on this and maybe look a little closer at say

Good information, thank you.
The southern area of the Liverpool plains, to me seems to be a site of either 1 or 2 impacts. I’ve spent a lot of time flying over that area over the years and the mountains just seem to mimic the remains on an impact crater. Plus on ground it simply feels different.
Maybe it is just me 😂😂😂

I very much enjoyed your video (as usual). On the gravity and magnetic maps I hope that you might have noticed a connection between Whitnoom, MAPCIS, and east of MAPCIS. East Coast coal fields were created from this event. Join the dots.

I’m no expert, but clearly there’s a lot of positive effects that result from these catastrophic natural events, so…
