It's hard to believe you missed the one from 11, 500 years ago. That one changed everything.

It's mentioned that some of the big asteroids that struck around 2 billion years ago must have had a devastating effect on life. But the only living things around were primitive multi-cellular organisms whose hardiness would allow a quick recovery. Complex life forms didn't arrive until the Cambrian Explosion.

I wonder how they persuaded Charlie Sheen to narrate this. D's & W's? 🤣

Is there a reason the massive Greenland crater was not included? I agree with comments below, that listing the craters either in chronological order, or in order of size, would have been helpful.

I had no idea that the Chelyabinsk meteor had that much energy (33 Hiroshima bombs, or 450 Kilo-tons of TNT), Jesus Christ, I'm just glad it exploded at 18 miles.

Missing the Younger Dryas impact event, 10, 835 BC, thought to be caused by a fragmented comet over 1 km across and linked with Gobekli Tepe and therefore the origin of civilisation.

Yet another "Stock Footage" montage full of random pics and clips that may or may not be even remotely relevant to the content. Still, it worked: got me here!

Never heard of the Nördlinger Ries, a 25 km wide impact crater in Germany, which was caused by an impact 15 million years ago?

May I comment that it's exactly what I thought. Based upon the number of impact craters I'd imagine we must've had a number of these things occur and I'm glad our Planet show's the proof.

Interestingly, exhaust from mining at the Sudbury Basin polluted the landscape for a radius of 12 miles around the smelters. The acid rain was so bad that the landscape was like the Moon.

Meteor Crater or "Barringer" Crater was named after Daniel M Barringer a mining engineer, he was not the person to discover the crater but correctly deduced it must have been created by a larger iron metallic meteor impact.

Pretty cool video but just a suggestion, it’d be a lot easier to keep up with comparing them if you just compared them all by size or est. date occurred. Entertaining video though 🤙🏽
