For the people in the comments asking what Eric wants, I believe he's advocating for more varied funding in physics to increase the possibility of smaller breakthroughs in many areas instead of looking for a brealthrough in one area that is long overdue.

I remember as a "lowly" mechanical engineering student walking through the physics building at my college and seeing a sign on a professor's door; "Theoretical physicist make theories, String physicist make excuses", or something like that.

I managed to pass basic physics classes twice in college. Watching this and reading the comments has made me realize that the writers for The Big Bang Theory, TV show, had some pretty good advisors for their episodes, at least sometimes. When Sheldon tried to give up his decades long, research in String Theory. Another when Leonard announced, on a radio interview, that nothing new had been discovered in Physics in several decades. Leonard was forced to lie, declaring he mispoke, because his honesty was vastly impacting the donations for research, that goes nowhere. There are constant barbs, on that show, about everyone's theorys having been disproven, and spending grant $ on hookers.

My 14 yr old autistic son was moving back and forth at the begining of this and by the time Eric was done he had stopped and was doing work in his head while he wrote in the air with his fingers.... he STOPPED AND SMILED!! My son rarely smiles... he started drawing in the air again and kept saying was wrong, now right. He loves loves working on physics and anything to do with movement and motion in science... im guessing he is agreeing with Mr E .W. Im a retired librarian and homeschool my kids, but im nowhere near as intelligent as one of my 14 yr old twins. He listens to all the podcasts of Mr E.W. now. Even tho i dont know what exactly happened during the podcast with my son, im very very grateful!!!! If anyone has any suggestions on what i can play for him with video or audio on space physic science please feel free to reply!!! Sorry so long, but maybe it will help another parent with a child whom is wired differently ❤

We now know there are nerds so nerdy that they are considered meganerds, and other nerds are so in awe of them, that they fear them, and don’t even utter their names within nerdling circles. This man’s voice actually trembled when he verbalized the name of the master nerd. It’s quite fascinating.
