Putin's red lines: How serious are his threats this time around? | DW News

The war in Ukraine will be top of the agenda during the visit of British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to Washington. He'll meet US President Joe Biden and they're expected to discuss allowing Ukraine greater control over Western-supplied missiles. Russian President Vladimir Putin is warning the West against letting Ukraine use their longer-range weapons to strike targets deep inside his country. But this isn't the first time Russia has threatened other countries for supporting Ukraine.

Instead making a fool out Putin because of many warnings against red lines, we should actually appreciate his patience for not using excessive force considering the lives of the innocent not only in Ukraine but around the world. We should encourage peace and not war

Poland first delivered lots of post soviet tanks and other weapons for Ukraine and it was in a very early phase of the war when it was most needed. Germany was offering helmets to Ukraine then.

Why doesn't the Western media include the entire interview with Putin when he explains that Ukraine cannot use the weapons on its own without NATO's help? Every Western media I've seen has cut out that part... Why do they hide such things?

Putin spoke for 2, 5 minutes, i saw the original video. He made a warning and saying that if Long Range missiles are used to hit Russian territory that would mean the direct involvement of the West in the conflict.

He said that's because these type of Missiles use satellite footage and live navigation from a base. He said that given that Ukraine has neither satillites nor nessacery technology( operating and gyidance base) to guide such missiles, if an attack is made it means that US and NATO forces have made that attack. In other words it would mean a US or NATO military base initiated guided and executed that attack using NATO satellite footage and a NATO command center to guide the missile. So that's NATO/USA bombing Russia directly.

I only clicked the video to see if you would show this part of the video where he explains that. I wasn't surprised.

DW did not show what he said before. He said that it is impossible to strike using high precision weapon without direct involvement of Nato specialists and NATO's satelites.

North Korea and Iran in effect are already in a permanent war with the west, while with Russia the west is trying or pretending that it's not committed to the same degree. What Putin is saying that this escalation changes the status of the relationship with the west, or in other words Russia playing the same game can provide all enemies of the west with a long range weapons that can reach their countries. This is especially concerning for the United States because they have the most enemies than any other county.

I condemn the occupation of Palestine and Syria and Ukraine, but why do these hypocrites called NATO, the European Union, and the United States not react to the occupation of Palestine and Syria by Israel and did not impose sanctions against Israel for violating the territorial integrity of Palestine and Syria by Israel? Are you liars and hypocrites, do you perceive the war against Iraq as the norm and the war against Ukraine as an international crime? The occupation of Palestine and Syria by Israel is normal, but the occupation of Ukraine by Russia is sanctions? Are you the most brazen liars in the history of mankind and yet you say that you want justice?
