President Putin has warned countries in the West not to cross what he called a “red line” with Russia, stating that it would trigger an "asymmetrical, rapid and harsh" response.

Mr Putin's comments during his state of the nation address came at a time of increased tensions with the West and as supporters of the jailed opposition figure Alexei Navalny staged more protests against Mr Putin's rule.

Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg.

All leaders that try to start wars should be standing on the front lines, along with their kids and other family members.

People in the US are more worried about the big problems, such as which is the right pronoun to use in order to not misgender someone.

From my standpoint this is sort of disingenuous... You say that Russia does not allow any protests that are not sanctioned ... Well neither does my country, Canada. Not just the trucker protests. *All* protests. Unless the police approve your protest (register it) it is 'illegal' and further, at any time the police can also declare a protest 'illegal'. Why have you not covered our situation in the same way?

i’m from the US. I hope we all can just have peace. No need for wars and all the death and destruction that comes with it. Let’s just enjoy and value life. We all can work together to make this earth we live in a little better for us all.

It's probably safer to start learning Russian and Cantonese now. It'll be quicker than figuring out what English we're still allowed to use anyway.
