Damn I wish I was from the US.. here in Norway it sucks ass and they all demand at least a bachelor degree, no matter how much you can prove that you know React, Typescript, Next.js etc. and can completely outcompete graduates because it's all about formality for the sake of formality, not about skills.

I Feel very encouraged by your story. I'm so inspired. I've been working a graphic design job for the past 6yrs with no degree but it hasn't really been helping me make ends meet since my dad passed away last year and responsibilities added up. So I took up self learning web programming early this month. My vision is to end up front end engineer also by God's grace.

I've been learning web development for about 2 months now. I feel like I've got a decent grasp on what I've learned so far. My goal is to become employable in 6 months but if it takes longer then that's ok with me. I'm a trucker in food service and I'm motivated to get out of it because it is very physically challenging and I don't know if I can do it for years to come.
