Are there actually any jobs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript? Or do you need to learn something like Python to get a job?

Half the time I don't even know what language is used. If you have enough experience you can work in any.

If someone tells you that no one will hire JavaScript developers and that Python is best they are probably some random guy who thinks Python is the best because it is hot at that moment. I doubt that that person has ever written a single line of code

He’s right - no one is going to hire you for these three alone. You need combined experience in a framework(s), data fetching familiarity, and at least know what good clean composable code structure looks like.

I hate these “top10” languages, because it isn’t about languages anymore - it’s about tech stacks and how to use them.

Learn multiple languages. It will make you better overall and it will make you more diversified and flexible.

I think html/css are great languages to learn because they’re pretty easy to start with. Hate when people talk down on these languages when people want to get into tech. It gives good a good foundation and there’s always opportunities to expand

I went on LinkedIn and searched front end developer jobs in Chicago. There were only about 40 results and many of them were either senior or full-stack positions.

The only people that care about languages are those who have a stake and those who are just learning to code. Everyone else just sees different tools they have various experience levels in and sometimes prefer one or the other depending on factors like mood, scope, goals, etc

To avoid any biases, it's essential to give equal consideration to both frontend and backend technologies. Based on my experience, backend development can be more challenging or, let's say, more complex. This is because it involves dealing with architecture and security, especially in distributed solutions like services or microservices in the cloud.

In my 7th grade coding class I learned HTML and CSS however I would like to regain that knowledge and add JS to it (in 9th currently).

Ques what. If you are experienced developer you know probably one or two backend languages that you are mainly using, however every experienced dev had to work with javascript at some point. So for example if you are java or c# dev you will in most cases also know javascript and SQL. Mystery solved.

One honest question: When people have so much skills in coding why can't they start their own company? It seems to me easier than to go learn a million languages and libraries in order to impress somebody making those stupid interviews. If a couple of guys are super technical but super nerd, socially awkard they might team up with an extravert, charismatic hustler with a big smile.

I feel like there are more backend jobs because I looked up backend jobs in java c# and go and there are many of these. Like you need to know these and the frameworks associated with these languages besides front end so idk but I think full stack is a trend and applicants have to be more versatile. And jobs that involve working with systems behind the scene is in high demand and there is less competition. Just my 2 cent

I'm studying Javascript, just finished HTML and CSS. JS is being quite of a ride, because, I was feeling pretty lost on just the theory, right? So, today I decided to go straight away to a project, because I wasn't feeling good just by understanding the basics. When I'm full of the project i go back to the basics and vice versa😂

I’m learning to be a front end in my college but the thing is that I’m kind of scared really. All the teachers are saying I should go full stack or into a software engineering because no one is looking for front end any more, so did I spend the last few years in this college just wasting my time? Should I be going into another degree or path? Is html, css, and JavaScript is just not enough? I’m don’t know what to do with my future. And almost going 18 years old, I don’t know what other to take now…

Yeah, js is most popular, but it is also as you know, good to know language, it's more of a know X language and some stuff to do front end just in case.

Just with js html css alone you will not get far without knowing some people.
