Here are 22 plants I direct seeded 8-10 days ago in August for a fall garden. They will germinate in 3-6 days with the warmth of summer. This is what they looked like when germinated and how quickly they grew in about 10 days. You still have time to plant crops for a fall garden.

I live on the central coast of California zone 9, this weather has not been favorable to my summer garden, some parts of it seem confused, we’re not getting any steady warm weather, on the positive side I threw down carrot seeds last November and I am still getting carrots 🥕 it is so cool because I have never grown carrots in containers before, they never went to seed.... patience for sure 🤷‍♀️😭💪😎

I am amazed how fast my second planting of zucchini have grown. I never have success with zucchini because of squash bugs. I just planted beet seeds 3 days ago and I am already seeing some germination. I have been watering the seeds consistently and we finally had rain to cool things off after 100+ heat indexes. I will be planting more fall seeds this weekend. Thank you Gary.

I am amazed at the germination I have gotten!!!! I’m still trying to figure out this growing zone three years in🤦🏻‍♀️’!! I’m 8b but on a peninsula a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean it’s been a challenge!!

I have trouble “giving up” on my plants. Today I’m ripping out tomatoes that aren’t doing well and putting in other crops that will.

Gary, I've been watching your videos off and on for the last 4 years, since I started gardening, and now reading one of your books...I live in Bowie, MD. Do you have a video about how you manage it all? I'm doing nothing compared to you, do not have a fulltime job, and can't even picture how you find the time for everything that needs doing in the size of your garden, plus all the videos, pod casts, books, don't you also volunteer at that place in Columbia?! Could you do a short video about how you manage it all (plus harvesting and storing long-term). I've started a playlist to encourage those with loads of shade (like me) to go at it anyhow and I'm finding myself referring to you quite often, along with others who've been helpful. My next (3rd video) will be on how I've applied your method of finding the level of sun exposure we get. Funny, I just realized, after expressing my awe in all that you do, I've asked you to do yet one more thing! Sorry! (But it's for the cause...)

I'm in zone 6a S.E. MI and my first hard frost usually comes the 1st or 2nd week in Nov. I just put up the greenhouse, so hopefully, I can still get summer crops well into Oct and part of Nov.

Will there be a video on Spotted Lanterflies and the damage they can cause to our garden?

Last year, my seedlings got decimated so I planted extra this year. Almost everything survived 😂! I'll have to wait a little to start the fall crops because we have joined the heatwave with 108 yesterday! Have you ever mentioned why or do you know why shade cloth is black? I got to wondering that the other day. I'm using white/off white sheer curtains (they were on sale at a great price several years ago). No idea what their rating would be but they seem to do the job en lieu of the real ones.

You mentioned keep up with your watering. How do you water all your garden beds? I don't see drip lines or soaker hose.
