The budgets for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are essentially black budgeted. They are not really on the books. It is hard to say how much has been spent in those places because so much of their budgets has been characterize basically as black budget. You are not allowed to know it; it is not necessary for them to disclose it. They can only estimate it, can be somewhere between 10 – 20 trillion dollars, 10 – 20 trillion dollars. Basically, a trillion dollars a year.

I believe that foreign policy has been a total mess since the beginning of time. That includes all of the western countries.

I agree. Our foreign policy has not been good in large part because we invaded Iraq and stayed in Afghanistan for too long. I support Biden getting us out of Afghanistan and think that we should've gotten us out of there ten years ago after we killed Osama Bin Laden.

with respect, I think Biden with this move has confirm the fears that Trump started, USA is not reliable, so when it comes down to geopolitics USA is on a very bad position.

The UK recently announced the phasing out of traditional landlines, with VoIP connections replacing the traditional phone sockets (given that my degree, computer networks, over a decade ago, mentioned VoIP as a technology that had been around a while, it is a bit strange that it has taken so long for this measure to take place, it's amazing they still use the traditional phone line for providing last-mile Internet access here)

The two principal criticisms of the JCPOA where that it: A. Is not indefinite. B. Did not also cover long range missile technology and missile tests. In fact, it was not against the deal for Iran to test a missile and it was also not against the deal for the US to sanction Iran for missile tests.

My opinion is that the US follows a series of policies that make waging war ineffective. Afghanistan has plentiful natural resources, so restructuring it as a colony could hypothetically pay for much of its costs. The wealth generated by using those resources could then be used to raise Afghan standard of living, driving a wall between the taliban and indigenous populace. Difficult to do when we lack those skills in the rust belt due to large scale outsourcing.
