I’ve tried doing everything except opening up my controller and buying a new one . It charges but it has to be in an awkward position and i think it just damages the port even more.

Someone from playstation told me that the reason my controller wont hold a charge is because the PlayStation doesn't know when to stop charging the controller and over time it kills the batteries ability to hold its charge.
He told me they should have warned people not to leave their controller plugged into the ps4 after the charge light goes out .

Unplug ur ps4 take out the chargeing cable leave it unpluged for 2 mins replug the ps4 turn it on plug ur charger into the ps4 and connect your controller

You do not know how much this means you saved me 30 dollars but instead i have a old charger for a nintendo and i used that life saver!

Go to settings go to devices then go to controllers then switch it to usb cable :) I fixed it today and was so happy I could play again 😃 saved me lots of money

Fixed🙂 thank you. Mine wasn't charging. I did the hold share button and ps button thing and now it's charging as I type this. Saved me about $70

Thanks man. A couple months ago I was playing Ghost Recon and my controllers quit charging. Thanks to you I'm still playing on my ps4 to this day.
