I'm almost positive they did name it after James Bond because I believe the non-locking blade is intended to make it comply with British knife laws.

Did you know that leatherman has now updated the blade on the leatherman bond with a new blade i love my leatherman bond i edc it along with my Swiss champ both works well together 👍

I am so glad I got this. I love how the bond has the old Wave plier head. I never got the Wave but the wire cutters work so much better in my opinion. It has a different feel to it, like elegant looking, or a gentleman's carry from the past. I didn't realize how much I needed a pocket clip. It's definitely a awesome tool. The slip joints are tight and hard to open, in a good way. My brother inlaw and friends don't like it, how it's hard to open, but they love the look of it. I don't need a knife to fling open, I just need a tool that works. I would like to get a free series tool to show off but I think I will go back to this for daily carry. The price is low enough so if I lose it, it's not a huge deal. I don't want to lose a $70, with clip multitool, but it's way better than losing $120-$230 multitool. I normally wear jeans and the clip is tight enough where I don't think it would fall off.

Just had mine delivered from Hennie Hayes UK. Gotta say, this tool is SO MUCH BETTER than the Wingman. So, OK there are no scissors on it, but I got that covered with with either my Victorinox Explorer or Huntsman. Came with a decent sheath as well.

It is superbly made, nothing on it feels cheap, and the overall fit and finish is gorgeous. The fact that you can fit the bit adapter to further increase its usefulness, is a major plus.

In fact, compared to this tool, the Wingman feels like a Chinese knock off. The difference in quality is that huge.
