Create Sprite from Image In Unity

Covert an Image to Sprite in Unity to use it where sprites are required.
Drag an image from folder explorer to assets.
Select the image in the Asset, texture Type: Sprite (2D and UI)
Select Sprite Mode: Single
Then you can use the sprite in different places in Unity, such as the UI.
Right-click in the Hierarchy, UI, Image. Select the sprite as a sprite source.

tip: create a sprite manager script. this will make updating sprites easier, more efficient loading, automated validation, reusable scripts, and so many more benefits.

What if I want to recolour the image (because I have a health bar that I want to change the colour of as it gets narrower)?

Can videos also be displayed as sprites? Or does it only work for images and image sequences?

Sorry, I have a question: how did you make the background of the PNG imgae disappear? I mean: the cross has a blue background but when you put it in the texture it became transparent. How did you do that?

Why in my project am I not able to change the texture type. Apply is greyed out. I have tried PNG files and PSD files....
