So sorry to hear about the diabetes Joshua, God bless you dude! Asus rog ally is definitely amazing 👏 can concur. Definitely feel like retro titles, emulation, and titles from the last 4-5 years in the past in terms of triple A titles run the best on it.

FYI - i think airplanes limit sockets to 75W which is enough for this. But something for people to know if they didn't already know.

I own both and id recommend getting the ally. Gameplay is smooth like butter, comfortable to hold and better if you play multiplayer competitive games.

Thank you! This was packed with information! Getting one because I work 10 to 14 hours as a line cook.

i'm buying this more as a gaming laptop replacement than as a console, so i guess i wouldn't be too bothered about it running full windows

I have the Ally along with the XG Mobile Dock (RX 6850M XT) and it's amazing. It transforms the Ally into a full desktop with all of the power that comes along with that while maintaining portability

Nice! Looks like a panda face. I hope you're doing well. Good video. I love my Steam Deck though.

I like that I can also install media apps like Netflix, and YouTube on it. It's definitely rough around the edges right now, but I think Asus will clean things up by Christmas.

The Valve Steam Deck + SteamOS is the Apple Devices + Apple OS is Hardware + OS/Software DIRECT pairing of the Handheld PC market! While also taking the Nintendo “We may not win the specs battle but we our PRICEPOINT and Software direct pairing will win the LONG game” !

RoG ally is taking the 3rd Party + OS approach like Compaq/IBM/Toshiba/Asus + Microsoft Windows or Samsung/Google + AndroidOS approach….

Valve will keep making the Steam deck UNTIL some other hardware manufacturers can get a device to that $399 entry pricePoint…. Then they will gracefully bow out of the handheld business…….. that was their goal to begin with… FORCE the market towards a Handheld Gaming PC direction, bring in more new Steam players …… build up Linux gaming while they can…… and then exit the hardware market when the time is right….

More than 50% of the people using the ROG Ally will be gaming on steam anyway so valve still wins. They just wanted to force the market towards PC gaming as a POPULAR standard so that Steam gains more ground/customers….

Either way, GAMERS

I have rog ally, not a fan of handheld pc before, but i really like it, been gamin in rog ally now most and stop gamin at pc, smooth and portable, if you know the right settings you can adjust you can smooth sailin at any games, never had any lag issue, my temp are just sittin around 60-70° 60fps 1080p, can run any program as it is windows, never encounter any problem with windows, i guess people who encounter windows bug they say, tweaks their OS much even it wasn't necessary, overall I'm happy with my rog ally

I tried the Ally at the Best Buy kiosk and really liked it. But I have a SteamDeck already so I’ll pass for now. Maybe in a few chip generations when they can get better performance per watt than SteamDeck. Or maybe I’ll wait till SteamDeck 2.

Great vid, was my first time watching one from you. Signed up as well. As for helath changes, I get that. I'm currently par tof a clinical trial to boost weigh loss to prevent diabetes n the near future. Takes some rethinking but absolutely doable. Stay healthy, SO from the Nethrelands 🙂

Have the SD and Rog. After trying to run Baldurs Gate on the SD, I got the Ally. The added performance is night and day. The only caveat to the experience, it’s a PC so I had to tinker with the system more than the SD. Battery life for AAA gaming is about the same, the big difference, the Rog can actually run the games and run them so well.

I like having options, but Windows is a "no go" for me in a handheld, and the Steam Deck is simply more purpose-built. Still, I love that it's pushing others to compete at a decent price point, and that Asus is rising to meet the challenge!

looks good
my only concern is the comments that I've seen regarding the micro sd problems....

I have big ass hands. This thing is easily the length of a shoe box.

It's huge AF. Comfortable to handle .
The screen is bigger than it looks from videos, it's a solid device.

Let's hope ASUS backs this device well.
